15:29:33 <dkcarlson> Hi, This is strange. In Windows 7 using release 2.6.11 and attempting to import a new ofx file from a network drive, the file does not appear in the import window and I cannot figure out how to force a refresh to make it appear
15:32:57 <dkcarlson> Closing the import window and re-opening it doesn't refresh it and changing to a different folder and back doesn;t refresh it either
15:34:19 <warlord> dkcarlson: what about exiting and restarting gnucash?
15:35:00 <dkcarlson> That probably would do it but that would take about 5 minutes
15:37:03 <dkcarlson> When I check the network folder with Windows explorer, the file is definitely there
15:37:30 <dkcarlson> I do have the folder mapped to a drive letter
15:38:42 *** rubdos has quit IRC
15:42:50 <dkcarlson> however in the import window the drive letter only appears in parentheses in the left column. In the path at the top it is only showing subfolder names. Even starting from the drive letter and drilling down to the folder does not refresh it
15:44:07 <dkcarlson> I import frequently enough that I do not want to close GnuCash several times in one work session
15:46:23 <dkcarlson> there are files from last Wednesday that I think I managed to import then
15:48:49 <dkcarlson> yes, I did import those but I do not remember how I got them to appear.

15:55:38 <dkcarlson> I just figured out that I had saved the file to my C: drive and I accidentally looked there instead of looking on the network. I am still learning how to use my new NAS. Sorry for the noise.
15:56:15 <warlord> lol.
15:56:15 <warlord> ok
15:59:52 <dkcarlson> Yes, when the file is saved to the network as intended, GnuCash has no problem importing it.

16:03:47 <redarrow> Cork: the package has 55 Perl dependencies, can you tell me more about what it does before I install it?

16:06:13 <redarrow> dkcarlson: welcome back
16:08:14 <dkcarlson> I am back. After accepting the import while GnuCash was digesting it I clicked on a different transaction and GnuCash froze. Windows insisted on closing it instead of waiting, as I usually do. I am now re-starting it to see what was lost, if anything
16:09:24 <dkcarlson> It appears the the entire import was lost
16:15:42 <dkcarlson> If that happens again I will return

19:02:01 <fell> jralls, I am wondering about guide/ja/fop.xconf in 'Merge branch 'Portuguese-help-translation' into maint'

19:28:00 <dkcarlson> Hi, Now in Windows 7 Release 2.6.11 when I enter or edit a transaction with three or so split lines, one of which is the bank checking account with probably the most transactions of any account in the file, when I press the enter key
19:29:49 <dkcarlson> I get a warning that that account does not exist, would I like to create it?. Then I press enter again and the error message disappears
19:33:00 <dkcarlson> I am also trying to create a scheduled transaction and I get the same error. I click no and next time it may or may not happen again
19:36:50 <dkcarlson> It happens more often than not
19:37:14 <fell> dkcarlson: if you enter your transacrions inside of an account, it is better to jump with <TAB> through the fields.
19:37:55 <fell> Or are you using the dialog?
19:39:00 <dkcarlson> Well, when I was trying to make a SX I just right clicked on it and selected Schedule
19:40:36 <dkcarlson> I am not doing big edits, maybe changing a date or an amount. I use the mouse a lot for this type of editing
19:41:48 <fell> Are you typing the accounts or selecting from the list?
19:42:12 <dkcarlson> right now these are transfers from one checking account to another and I happen to be in the register of the other checking account
19:42:41 <dkcarlson> Actually, I am not touching the caaount boxes
19:42:57 <dkcarlson> amount
19:43:17 <dkcarlson> no account
19:43:43 <dkcarlson> I am not touching the account boxes
19:44:39 <dkcarlson> I suspect there is some sort of timing issue going on behind the scenes
19:44:42 <fell> If you chnage the ammount in 1 column you will have to adjust it in the other, too. Else you will get an Imbalance split.
19:53:31 <dkcarlson> Yeah, I am changing both sides before I move on
19:54:18 <dkcarlson> I have imbalances down to a science
19:55:26 <fell> And you remove the the temporary created imbalance line?
19:55:37 <dkcarlson> the file is on a network drive and it is compressed
19:56:52 <dkcarlson> for these transactions the imbalance never gets created
