14:07:14 <jralls> warlord: As a first cut I ran just "make" on a built directory, which should be a no-op and take only a few seconds. It appears to relink everything, and that took 40 minutes, so it would appear that my intuition about that part is right... though it means that compile takes 20, which is still absurd.

14:35:41 <warlord> Windows is ... slow
14:37:11 <warlord> jralls: btw, we should no longer have power event outages here. My generator was enabled yesterday.
14:37:28 <jralls> Yay.
14:37:52 <warlord> Now, what I *DONT* know is whether a power event will take out upstream networking equipment.
14:38:16 <warlord> My CPE is backed up, but if there is an upstream repeater somewhere, I dont have control over that... :(
14:38:56 <jralls> At some point you're dependent on the ISP not going down, and there's not much you can be done about it.
14:39:26 <warlord> Right.
14:39:38 <warlord> At least Google Fiber is coming
14:40:13 <jralls> Anyway, mingw is slow. I can't imagine that regular windows developers would put up with the compile times we're seeing.
14:41:33 <warlord> I'm sure visual studio is much faster
14:44:07 *** rex has joined #gnucash
14:45:43 <jralls> Well, I know from the gtk-devel list that Gtk+ and its dependencies will build on VS and that Chun Fan-wei is maintaining "solutions". Dunno about the rest of our deps; Guile would be a particular concern.
14:52:49 <codesmythe> I'm guessing that a CMake build based on mingw won't be much faster, but have not tried it yet.
14:54:17 <warlord> It depends; I really think a lot of the hold-up is libtool
14:57:18 <gour> hiya, i have regular need for scheduled transactions, but in the past i was 'burnt' with corrupted database, so wonder if there was some recent work (last year or so) in regard which might help to fix those issues?
14:58:14 <jralls> gour: Not that I'm aware of. Is there a bug report on the corruption problem?
15:01:57 *** rex has joined #gnucash
15:13:59 <gour> jralls: i did report it long ago and even provided testing-repo, but nothing ever happened in regard
15:14:28 <jralls> gour: What's the bug number? It doesn't matter how long ago you reported it.
15:15:04 <gour> let me try to find it...however, i rm-ed testing repo some time ago
15:36:24 <gour> jralls: here is my post to the list: http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.gnome.apps.gnucash.user/45167/match=sxtest
15:41:12 <gour> isn't there an easy/intuitive way to find all the reports commented by someone?
15:41:36 <jralls> gour: Not in the least bit useful, sorry. A post like that is unlikely to attract any developer notice.
15:42:16 <gour> jralls: i was commenting some ticket in bugzilla, but can't find it
15:42:19 <jralls> BZ is searchable in just about any way you can imagine if you use Advanced Search.
15:43:33 <jralls> Just be sure to highlight (or clear) all of the status values so that you see closed bugs.
15:44:17 <jralls> Note in particular the "Search by People" block under Version-Milestone-etc.
15:44:25 <gour> jralls: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=543212
15:52:37 <jralls> I fixed that in January, so version 2.6.6 or later. BTW, the bug that you linked to in your comment 8 is for a different project entirely.
16:02:25 <gour> jralls: that was probably copy&paste mistake, but check this page: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/buglist.cgi?bug_status=__all__&content=scheduled%20transactions&list_id=76367&order=Importance&product=GnuCash&query_format=specific there are several crash-reports
16:06:05 <jralls> gour: Yeah, all fixed. There are no open critical or blocker SX bugs, nor any with "crash" in the summary.
16:08:30 <gour> jralls: ok, sounds good. i'll give it another try then ;)
16:09:03 <jralls> gour: And if it crashes or deletes info, then by all means file a bug!
16:09:42 <gour> jralls: sure...although i'll continue keeping my database under dvcs (fossil)
16:10:17 <jralls> OK, no harm in that.

21:38:24 <Colby> I'm new to Gnucash and was wondering if there's a way to create my own invoices instead of using the ones supplied with the program. They make my eyes bleed. I would like to add my logo and make it more readable, but editing the invoice doesn't allow me to do this.
21:44:51 <Colby> Also, is there a way to integrate gnucash invoicing with PayPal's invoicing?
