10:25:34 <warlord> Your books, by definition, CANNOT match the bank's books. That's exactly WHY reconciliation exists.
10:26:13 <warlord> So what if you have to bounce around between a few lines when you're reconciling against your bank statement? You'd have to do that in the old pen-and-ink method, too.

10:33:54 <warlord> One thing that can make your life easier is that if you "clear" your transactions as you notice they hit the bank, then when you come to reconcile all those cleared transactions are pre-checked. (that may or may not make reconciliation easier -- for me it would generally make it harder)
