08:28:11 <jralls> Cocodude: Don't touch the trading accounts. They're for GnuCash to track pricing/exchange rates. Instead, create a gains split in Income:Capital Gains (or whatever you want to call it) and a counter-split in the stock account itself. You can do that either in the sale transaction or as a separate transaction. You can also use the Lots facility to do that for you, though it doesn't work well if you trade a particular security
