09:23:35 <jralls> gjanssens: I found the problem with the Mac bundles. It was that the environment file value of GUILE_LOAD_COMPILED_PATH was messing up the value I'd put in the launcher script.
09:24:18 <jralls> gjanssesn: So I want to fix up the gnc_environment_setup so that it does the right thing in a bundle.
09:24:30 <jralls> Oops.
09:25:36 <jralls> Anyway, I see that you used g_build_filename on the return from gnc_path_get_prefix for bin_parm instead of using gnc_path_get_bindir(). Is there a reason?

15:15:26 <gjanssens> jralls: the use of g_build_filename grew out of the idea of having a set of environment variables that could be used to build other paths in the environment file
15:15:49 <gjanssens> GNC_HOME is the base path, all others build on top of that
15:16:09 <gjanssens> But I agree in hindsight this is more or less duplicating the binreloc stuff
15:16:46 <gjanssens> And if I understand you correctly this is not consistent with how a mac bundle is organized
15:16:54 <gjanssens> So feel free to correct is as you see fit
15:17:25 <gjanssens> Note though that the windows installer rewrites some of the lines in the environment file during the installation
15:17:29 <jralls> gjanssens: Actually, no, they don't, because other than bin they all use g_path_get_foo(), which in turn queries binreloc if it's enabled. Binreloc knows about Mac bundles and GNC_HOME doesn't.
15:18:04 <gjanssens> Then I was clearly inconsistent while writing this
15:18:16 <gjanssens> Even more reason to fix it :)
15:18:46 <jralls> Maybe, but maybe you had a reason to be inconsistent.
15:18:57 <gjanssens> Not that I remember
15:19:18 <gjanssens> I probably would have added a comment if that were the case
15:19:49 <jralls> OK, then I'll just change it for consistency's sake.
15:20:46 <jralls> The actual problem turned out to be an oops in environment.in, you'll see the change when you read gnucash-changes.
15:22:08 <gjanssens> Ok

21:15:57 <David417> Hi. I am trying to install release 2.6.5 into Windows 7 over a test installation of 2.6.4 from a December 6(I think) weekly build. It halted with a message about being unable to rename stylesheet-footer.scm. I can attach a png file of the message. That is on a laptop which has limited battery life remaining until tomorrow when my wife returns the power brick she borrowed.

21:17:36 <David417> I may have time to find the file and copy it out to another name. Should I try that or just hit ignore?
21:21:01 <David417> I think that there is no third party program using that file.
21:28:22 <warlord> David417: is gnucash running?
21:28:32 <warlord> maybe try uninstalling 2.6.4 first?
21:31:37 <David417> no. I just searched the entire program files (x86) directory and found several .css files with stylesheet in their name, but the only .scm files were a couple of other stylesheet names
21:32:57 <David417> the actual errorcode is MoveFile failed; code 32. Could that mean that the file is missing?
21:33:35 *** conley has joined #gnucash
21:34:07 <warlord> I suppose it is possible.
21:34:13 <warlord> jralls:??
21:34:31 <conley> Why is boost a dependency of gnucash as of 2.6.3 (or at least, as of July in git) when it builds fine without it, and if it is a dep, why do distro packages not use it?
21:34:47 <warlord> conley: it's not a dep of 2.6.x
21:34:58 <warlord> It IS a dep in git head
21:36:18 <conley> warlord: oh, so 2.6.x is the maint branch?
21:36:33 <warlord> conley: yes
21:37:30 <David417> I think my problem is only important if other users see it too. I can always re-install if necessary
21:39:58 <David417> I started this just after re-booting because Windows remote procedure calls were failing
21:40:20 <warlord> Hmm... sounding like you might have issues on your windows box..
21:41:21 <David417> I will keep my fingers crossed.
21:41:31 <conley> warlord: alright, thank you. One more question: when I build gnucash and configure it with a prefix, there is still one reference to the unprefixed directory I built it in, in the gnucash-valgrind binary. Would this be a gnucash error or from my build script?
21:41:52 <David417> hard to type that way, though. Bye for now.
21:42:03 *** David417 has quit IRC
22:12:02 <conley> Ah, I guess the valgrind script would need the source directory, which is discarded during package generation. Okay, better question: how do I disable the generation of gnucash-valgrind? Is there a configure option or should I just delete the file?
