Ar for the Customer shows the correct balance (0) but I have 3 invoices still showing as unpaid in the Process Payment Wizard, even though there are payments showing whihc cover the amounts. How ca

03:55:25 <Jotrago> How can I fix this?
04:39:11 *** pppp2 has joined #gnucash
04:56:43 <Jotrago> Came up with the following solution. Use process Payment Wizard to Refund the offending payments to Liabilities>Refunds&Credits, on the ORIGINAL Dates. Then Process Payments for the Relevant Invoices, From Refunds&Credits.

11:18:48 <knobo> Can I register working hours in gnucache?
11:20:52 <kimmo2> no
11:21:20 <knobo> Can I write a plugin for that?
11:22:38 <kimmo2> sure, you can write plugins for anything
11:23:36 <knobo> Any ide on how to start?
11:25:09 <kimmo2> use the force, read the source... personally I wonder why you'd want to write something like that..
11:25:34 <kimmo2> gnucash is an accounting software, not an ERP...
11:25:35 <knobo> To include it in an invoice
11:25:50 <kimmo2> next you'd like resource planning plugins..
11:26:12 <knobo> Right..
11:26:26 <knobo> Maybe gnucash is not what I want.
11:26:56 <kimmo2> it's great for accounting, I've used it for about 14 years now
11:27:26 <kimmo2> (and most of my business is based on billable hours)
11:29:16 <knobo> kimmo2: And you don't include an hour report in the invoice, but maybe make an attachment then?
11:30:09 <kimmo2> yeah
11:30:32 <kimmo2> then again, I don't use gnucash's small business features, either
11:31:26 <kimmo2> that wasn't available when I first started using gnucash, and I never found a good reason to switch as it's just me working, so there's not much excel hassle

12:26:58 <jralls> gjanssens: I did a bisect on the report system crash, and it's from the pre-compile change. Interestingly, it crashes only when installed from the installer. Running it from the dist directory from the command line works.
12:27:26 <gjanssens> jralls: I was just about to look into this
12:27:40 <gjanssens> Did you bisect back to a specific commit ?
12:29:13 <jralls> gjanssens: Another interesting piece is that 97f8f3 crashes immediately after displaying the splash screen, but HEAD crashes while loading the report system.
12:31:24 <jralls> Since 97f8f3 was the first change in the bisect, I don't know yet if it was be0e358 that gets it to the report system load. Starting that build now, it'll take a little more than an hour.
12:33:35 *** ErKa has quit IRC
12:35:26 <gjanssens> jralls: did you start from an empty build and inst directory ?
12:36:30 <jralls> gjanssens: No. Why?
12:36:42 <gjanssens> I see a possible trouble scenario if the old install dir was not removed, together with the GUILE_LOAD_PATH not being adjusted yet in the installer
12:37:34 <jralls> Ah, GUILE_LOAD_PATH is a likely candidate.
12:37:45 <jralls> What should it be?
12:37:54 <gjanssens> Particularly after commit c9bfaa8bb3cf803253f3ec3cfa65e3c5b38d8182
12:38:28 <gjanssens> In that commit I have changed the install path of our guile modules from ...guile-modules to ...scm
12:38:43 <gjanssens> However the old modules will still be around in ...guile-modules
12:39:10 <gjanssens> In the environment file created during the build, only the ...scm path is still in GUILE_LOAD_PATH
12:39:29 <gjanssens> I don't think I removed ...guile-modules already in gnucash.iss
12:40:09 <gjanssens> So if the old modules are still in the guile-modules dir in the install path, the report system will try to load all reports twice
12:40:17 <gjanssens> Which I believe can result in a crash at load time
12:43:39 <jralls> Ah. I see that's indeed the case with Program Files (x86)/gnucash/share: The report system scheme files exist in both gnucash/scm and gnucash/guile-modules.
12:44:01 <jralls> Is there supposed to be anythin left in guile-modules?
12:44:23 <gjanssens> You can try to remove the complete installed guile-modules directory and see if it works
12:44:30 <gjanssens> There should be nothing left in there
12:45:34 <jralls> Being conservative, I renamed it. Gnucash launched normally.
12:46:00 <gjanssens> So that's the cause then
12:46:17 <jralls> I'll nuke the build and inst dirs on the VM server and start a build...
12:46:42 <gjanssens> Ok, wait just a few minutes before you restart the build
12:46:55 <gjanssens> I'm about to push a related fix to gnucash-on-windows
12:47:08 <gjanssens> So that guile-modules no longer appears on the load path
12:48:06 <gjanssens> (My local git repo has decided to run git gc just now, so I have to wait a bit...)
12:49:07 <jralls> No worries. It takes a few minutes to delete the two directories on the VM Server. That sucker is incredibly slow.
12:50:10 <gjanssens> Heh yeah...
12:50:21 <gjanssens> Anyway, my commit has just been pushed
12:51:20 <gjanssens> Got to go again...
