04:04:59 <gjanssens> fell: I didn't know your nick on github is fellen
04:05:14 * gjanssens could have guessed it though given the similarity
04:05:28 <gjanssens> fell was too short for github ?
04:05:30 <fell> It was the shortest available
04:05:57 <fell> Somebody else has fell and felle
04:07:00 <fell> as I registered yesterday.
04:08:11 <gjanssens> oh so your gnucash-htdocs was brand new !
04:08:20 <gjanssens> (fork)
04:09:03 <fell> latest commit cfa5b15251
04:09:06 <fell> Derek Atkins derekatkins authored 2 days ago
04:13:34 <fell> gjanssens: I always have to wait 5s - 2min for wiki.gnucash.org while other parts are < 1s. How is it for you?
04:14:08 <gjanssens> I actually see similar things.
04:14:21 <gjanssens> I haven't noticed issues while just browsing
04:14:45 <gjanssens> But saving a page after making changes can take a very long time
04:15:28 <fell> BTW: you are writing nice articles there. But you should link them, so they can be found later again. E.g. Gitolite
04:15:43 <gjanssens> :)
04:15:50 <gjanssens> I wasn't sure if it should be made public or not
04:16:00 <gjanssens> I'll link it from the Git page
04:16:22 <fell> Better from maintainace somewhere
04:17:10 <gjanssens> Maintainance ? Do we have such a page ?
04:17:20 <fell> e.g. http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Project_Administration

04:45:25 <fell> gjanssens: Another lonely page: http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Git_Svn_Mirror
04:57:48 <gjanssens> fell: how about what I just added in http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Git#Related_Topics ?
05:01:22 <fell> Historians would prefer year numbers. ;-) But I think it is OK.
05:03:57 <gjanssens> Feel free to add them. This is a wiki ;) On the other hand the history link will give you all the dates
05:04:11 <gjanssens> Most people reading the page are not interested in the history anyway
05:05:09 <gjanssens> The only reason I don't delete the page completely is that it may be useful for other projects in a similar situation
05:05:43 <gjanssens> We're FOSS after all and sharing knowledge is a win for all
05:06:53 <fell> Git vs svn is still on my to read list. :-)

12:41:17 <Grunt_ve> do u know when it will be up again?
12:44:11 <jralls> No. There seems to be a network outage on AT&T's Texas network.
12:47:02 <warlord> I've sent email to linas about it; hopefully he can let us know what's up. I know he was in the process of migrating to a FthH network, but I didn't think it was happening so quickly.
12:51:54 <Grunt_ve> ok, so its temporary, thanks, i'll check again later
12:52:25 <warlord> Grunt_ve: what are you looking for on www?
12:52:32 <warlord> some of the data may be available elsewhere
12:53:16 <jralls> If it's a network issue, Linas might not get the email until it's fixed.
12:53:35 <warlord> jralls: his email is @gmail
12:53:43 <Grunt_ve> well, download the app, i just found out you guys existed recently hehe

12:54:40 <Grunt_ve> i will, thanks

19:50:56 <brianjaod> hello
19:52:02 <brianjaod> i'm considering switching from quickbooks to gnucash. anyone know if there is a timer utility, similar to QB? i use it for tracking billable time and then importing to an invoice. thanks!
19:56:44 <warlord> brianjaod: Not being familiar with QB, I don't know exactly what a "timer utility" is. GnuCash does have the ability to enter a "reminder" that will pop up a notice on the specified day/period. I've never used that functionality.
19:56:52 <warlord> (it's tied into the Scheduled Transaction feature)
19:59:17 <brianjaod> warlord, thanks for the help. the timer utility is a separate little app that allows you to click start and stop, like a stopwatch, to track time. you import your customer list into the timer and then can select which customer you're billing against. after a week of doing that, you can export the timer data and then import it to QB and then easily/quickly create invoices therefrom
19:59:25 <brianjaod> does gnucash support anything like that?
20:02:57 <warlord> no
20:03:08 <warlord> there's a gnome program called "gnotime" on Linux
20:03:18 <warlord> but it's separate, not integrated into GnuCash
20:04:10 <brianjaod> yes, i read a little blip about gnotime, which might work. does gnucash support the importing of that type of info for the subsequent generation of invoices?
20:04:18 <warlord> No
20:04:35 <warlord> c.f. "not integrated into gnucash"
20:04:49 <warlord> there *IS* an invoice importer in 2.6, which I've never used..
20:05:06 <warlord> I dont know how good it is, but I think it's probably very ... finicky
20:05:13 <brianjaod> ok, cool, thanks so much for your time
20:05:21 <warlord> When I was doing consulting on my own I used GnoTime.
20:05:27 <warlord> And then hand-entered my data into invoices.
20:05:35 <warlord> It wasn't a significant amount of time.
20:05:36 <brianjaod> maybe, if the time allows, i might take a swing at implementing it. :)
20:05:50 <warlord> It's in C
20:05:56 <warlord> patches welcome
20:06:18 <brianjaod> awesome! I live in C :) you a dev for gnucash?
20:07:42 <warlord> Used to be.
