11:49:50 <alb> hello there, I'm having troubles with the Mortgage Druid
11:50:50 <alb> the problem is that the formula provided is dividing my annual rate per 12 months, while I need it to be evaluated quarterly
11:51:19 <alb> what I did was to create the transaction anyhow and then edit it manually
11:52:14 <alb> but it seems that the 'i' variable is running every month even though the transaction is scheduled quarterly
11:52:31 <alb> this screws up completely the ipmt and ppmt values
11:52:40 <alb> any ideas?
13:03:39 <warlord> alb: Are you sure the schedule is quarterly? It should only increase the 'i' variable on each run..

13:44:01 <john> gjanssens: Geert, thanks, downloading it now. Happy New Year to you, too.
14:02:32 <john> Released. Yay.
14:07:42 <warlord> Yay!
14:13:02 <gjanssens> Yay from me too!

14:35:50 <john> I guess the next topic is turning off SVN. I suggest that we wait until next week, just in case something bad turns up in 2.4.14 and we need to do one more build.
14:39:22 <gjanssens> Indeed, perhaps even wait one week longer
14:39:37 <gjanssens> I'll be afk until Januari 11
15:00:25 <warlord> I think we should just wait to turn it off until I'm ready to migrate the server to the new FC20 VM. Then we can just have it "turned off" as part of the migration?
15:00:58 <john> OK. When do you plan to do that?
15:05:51 *** jmd has joined #gnucash
15:14:47 <warlord> Probably not for a couple weeks; I'm still working on my (personal) mail server migration to get a feel for the fc20 changes
15:16:13 <warlord> (and that server only has postfix and jabber; not all the other stuff that code runs)
15:17:08 *** jmd has quit IRC
15:18:25 <john> OK. I'm leaning towards 2.6.1 release either the 26th or Feb. 2nd unless someone turns up a critical bug that requires an earlier release.
15:21:17 *** jmd has joined #gnucash
15:39:14 <warlord> Okay.. Hopefully I'll be ready to migrate before then. We'll see how far I can get in my free time... I expected to be done with my exiting server much faster than this. :-(
15:55:56 <john> If you're not ready to migrate, no big deal. Just don't start the migration two days before the release. ;-)

16:11:17 <LiamH> The QIF import is dropping the last part of the Gnucash account name I'm passing in, "Assets:Investments:TSP Retirement:G Fund" becomes "Assets:Investments:TSP Retirement:". Is there a limit to the length of account names for QIF import?

20:28:28 <warlord> john: I wont ;)
20:28:55 <warlord> LiamH: I didn't think there was..
21:28:05 <LiamH> warlord: OK. Is there any way to influence the gnucash account used on QIF import? It sometimes ignores what's stated in the file (even when there's an exact match to the gc filename), on the screen it gives me an opportunity to set the account (and it's set right), it ignores that and makes up its own "conflict" account.
21:43:46 <warlord> LiamH: that conflict account happens if the type or currency is wrong.
21:50:22 <LiamH> warlord: hmm. I thought I had the right type (Invst) and the currency is number of shares.
22:05:14 <LiamH> Now it insists on changing the share units to a completely different fund

23:41:14 <rtypo> hi, i need an idea of how to handle this simple thing
23:41:19 <rtypo> so i buy something for a friend for $4.75, but receive $5 back (more convenient)
23:41:41 <rtypo> checking -> owed to me ($4.75)
23:41:47 <rtypo> owed to me -> cash in wallet ($4.75)
23:41:52 <rtypo> how do i record the additional $.25 in my wallet?
23:42:36 <rtypo> gifted -> cash in wallet ($.25)... would be one way
23:44:51 <rtypo> actually i'll do it that way now
23:46:24 <rtypo> if anyone knows a way to tie the 25ยข to the specific payment, please tell
23:50:18 <fell> rtypo: income:gifts
