09:34:29 <warlord> gnucash_user: guids are random.
09:34:44 <warlord> you can generate them via the QOF code to generate a guid (see guid.[ch]
09:34:54 <warlord> Or you can use the uuid tools to generate them.
09:35:08 <warlord> It's not a "hash" per se, but a random (128-bit) number

12:27:32 <ryanakca> I'm importing transactions for bank accounts A and B via my bank's exported OXFs. A's OXF has a transaction "Deposit N$ into account B"; B's OXF has a transaction "Deposit N$ from account A". How can I force gnucash to merge these two transactions into one, instead of having account B have two transactions depositing N$?
13:05:16 <warlord> ryanakca: you need to specifically tell gnucash it's a duplicate.
13:05:23 <warlord> (during the import process)
13:05:36 <warlord> It's unlikely the importer can know this automatically
13:06:21 <ryanakca> Yes, sometimes it asks me to "reconcile" transactions, which I assume is what I want, except in this case, it doesn't provide me any matches to reconcile with.
13:06:30 <ryanakca> How can I specifically tell gnucash it's a duplicate?

13:19:51 <warlord> ryanakca: I think the 'reconcile' portion of OFX import is .. different.
13:20:07 <warlord> I think you change the color. I'm not sure, I don't import any transactions.
