08:53:38 <YeOldHinnerk> Hi
08:53:46 <YeOldHinnerk> One question:
08:54:00 <YeOldHinnerk> I have an existing scheduled transaction.
08:54:06 <YeOldHinnerk> Now I changed the template.
08:54:38 <YeOldHinnerk> I would like to delete the existing bookings of the last three months and have the sx executed again for the last three months
08:54:59 <YeOldHinnerk> so that my changes are in the renewed booking.
08:55:14 <YeOldHinnerk> (i hope this was clear: If not.... please ask)
08:57:15 <YeOldHinnerk> Ah - question is: How can I do this?
08:58:39 <YeOldHinnerk> anyone awake? thinking about this? or all idle?
08:59:46 <warlord> YeOldHinnerk: it's early, most people are asleep. (it's barely 9am here just now). Alas, I know of no way in the UI to get gnucash to refire an SX. You're better off just manually adjusting the previously-fired SX transactions.
09:01:20 <YeOldHinnerk> hm, I'm talking about a complete overhaul of the sx, and it has about 20 lines...
09:02:13 <warlord> I understand.
09:02:30 <warlord> But as I said, I know of no way to adjust the SX to refire.
09:02:50 <warlord> There may be a way to do it manually in the data file, but of course that's not officially supported.

10:47:22 <lennart> hi
10:47:39 <lennart> i have a problem with my self-built version of gnucash and webkit HTML report rendering
10:48:00 <lennart> In the report tab the raw html code is being shown, but no actual rendering is done
10:48:29 <lennart> My webkit works fine (tested with arora) and the generated reports can be rendered in arora as well
10:48:51 <lennart> here's the debug output if I try and reload a failing report: http://pastebin.com/9TkUYRMf
10:49:35 <lennart> I'm using gnucash 2.4.11 with webkit 1.10.2
10:50:14 <lennart> Does that sound familiar? Is there anything that can be done about this? How could I debug this further without jumping head-on into the code?
10:52:44 <warlord> YeOldHinnerk: note that once you adjust one of the transactions you can use quickfill to generate the other two and just adjust the splits as necessary.
10:53:15 <warlord> lennart: what OS/Distro? Are you sure you built gnucash with webkit and not gtkhtml support?
10:54:07 <lennart> warlord: I'm using Crux (linux) and I built gnucash with --with-html-engine=webkit
10:55:44 <warlord> lennart: are all reports failing, or just the bar chart?

10:57:23 <lennart> warlord: e.g. „Profit & Loss“ is failing as well
10:57:31 <lennart> which seems to be just a HTML table
10:59:31 <warlord> lennart: Dunno what to say; it works on Fedora.
11:00:23 *** fabior has quit IRC
11:00:24 <lennart> warlord: ok, thanks :)
11:00:45 <warlord> I've got gnucash with webkit working.
11:01:10 <lennart> I had it working on my 32-bit system, now that I'm on 64-bit it doesn't work anymore
11:01:14 <warlord> granted, I'm using webkit-gtk 1.4.2
11:01:18 <lennart> (I might have mentioned that earlier)
11:01:30 <warlord> I'm on 64-bit
11:01:58 <warlord> Could be an issue with the newer webkit.
11:02:17 <lennart> might be. That version got upgraded when I transitioned from 32-bit to 64-bit
11:04:10 <warlord> F17 has 1.10.1..
11:04:22 <warlord> Er, F18
11:06:23 <warlord> Does your distro not package GnuCash?
11:06:44 <lennart> it does, but I maintain that package ;)
11:06:55 <warlord> Oh..
11:07:52 <lennart> If that issue doesn't sound familiar to anyone else I'll dive into the code next week. I guess the log messages should be a good pointer where to look
11:08:20 <warlord> It's not familiar with me, but you can try asking on the gnucash-devel mailing list.. Be sure to mention you're the package maintainer.
11:09:14 <lennart> good point, I'll look into that
11:11:23 <warlord> The debug list doesn't really seem to point to any partcular issues to me
11:12:46 <warlord> anyways, gotta run again
11:17:34 <lennart> tahnks for your help :)

15:39:38 <kingsley> Hello
15:39:44 <kingsley> I
15:41:12 <kingsley> I'm happy to report that I just installed gnucash on Debian Linux, created an account, and imported transactions from .ofx file.
15:42:38 <kingsley> I'm glad to see that a cash flow report shows the imported transactions.
15:43:52 <kingsley> However, the running balance is too low, because the imported transactions start when the account already had money in it.
15:44:16 <kingsley> Is there a way to initialize an account's starting balance?
15:44:20 <kingsley> If so, how?
15:47:53 <lennart> when you create the account there is a tab in that dialog where you can put starting balance
15:48:16 *** Topcat has quit IRC
15:48:21 <lennart> I just tried and it seems you can't use that way to increase the starting balance of an already existing account
15:49:36 *** ErKa has joined #gnucash
15:52:58 <kingsley> lennart: Maybe I overlooked the starting balance tab.
15:54:10 <kingsley> For what it's worth, reconciling the account let me enter the desired ending balance, and seems to have added the correct starting balance. I only needed to edit its date.
15:54:52 <lennart> ah, that's way more practical then :)

16:02:54 <kingsley> Can gnucash render a chart or graph of an account's balance?
