12:33:09 <Richard> Have placed all of my financial records in GnuCash and they show up in the Standard Portfolio, but on one (1) account only, I can only put in about 1/2 of the transactions before it stops working in the Advanced Portfolio report. Is my account corrupted?
12:35:36 <warlord> Assuming you have at most 1 txn per day, can you adjust the report dates to figure out which transaction is causing the issue?
12:36:32 <Richard> Am I restricted to only so many transactions per day?
12:39:15 <warlord> No, but the report can only be set to a day, so if you find the report works on Jan 1 but fails on Jan 2 then you've limited the issue to those jan2 txns. If you have multiple on that day it would be harder to know which one it is, but you've at least narrowed the problem.
12:40:02 <Richard> When I ran into this problem, I had one other account to add, so I stopped where I had this problem and then started the last Account. It loaded up ok. I then went back to account where I had the problem nad the same thing happened. I even deleted all of the transactions up to the Parent 1st line transaction. Same problem. Maybe my parent is corupt?

12:42:42 <Richard> Yes, I just checked. It is set for the end of the accounting period.
12:45:15 <Richard> The standard portfolio works, but it doesn't have all of the other columns of information. Really that is what I need. I am so close to having everything on here. Need help. I LOVE this program. I have been entering the data with all of my transaction and have stopped using Quicken. Their support is not real good!!

12:51:02 <warlord> Play with the report dates until you find the date where it stops working -- that will point you to the erroneous transaction. From there we can see what might be the issue.
12:51:34 <warlord> I recommend bisection. Start half-a-year back, then move forward/back by 1/2 step each time until you find Day A where the report works, and Day A+1 where it does not.

12:54:04 <Richard> I have been checking the advanced report after every transaction entry, so I know the exact transaction where it stopped working. I can delete it and the report works fine up to that point. As soon as I enter it back in again, it stops working.

12:58:13 <Richard> It id a DRIP transaction. I have tried to duplication the earlier ones and then chage the values, that usually worked for all of my other conversions, but it stopped me on this one.

13:03:57 <Richard> The DRIP transaction is the Dividend Re-Investment transaction where I have been given money and have automatically purchsaed more mutual fund shares. I will right now re-enter the tranaction from scratch. I will know real quick if that works. OK?
13:06:47 <warlord> Sure. OH, are you entering it from an Income account? You *may* need to translate that from Income -> 'Cash' and then 'Cash' -> Investment. I think the report doesn't quite understand a direct Income -> Investment txn. (I'm not sure why)
