18:31:19 <ska> I just upgraded my Ubuntu and I get: "Cannot find default values" errors. I see them listed in the past, but not sure how to fix. Tried all the obvious things.
18:31:39 <ska> I can still "skip" and "setup" but that doesn't help
18:38:51 <ska> Failed to execute child process "update-gnucash-gconf" (No such file or directory).. GnuCash 2.4.10

18:50:31 <Dave_is_sexy> Hi guys. I've updated to the newest version on Windows, and when I go to a Liability account, double line view is always turned on. Anyone know how to stop this? Other accounts open in single line view as per the program settings. Thanks

18:52:39 <Dave_is_sexy> Oops. Quit by accident
18:58:51 <warlord> ska: did you build gnucash, or is it a package?
18:59:27 <warlord> Are you sure it is a liability and not, say, A/R and A/P?
19:00:07 <Dave_is_sexy> Hey Warlord! I remember you from 2008-ish :-) You're a developer, right?
19:00:10 <Dave_is_sexy> I will check
19:00:42 <warlord> was... nowadays more of a cranky hanger=on ;)
19:01:05 <Dave_is_sexy> It is Account Payable, which I think is right for a utility contract
19:01:32 <warlord> No, it's not, unless you're using the business features.. And *that* is why it's in double-line mode
19:02:32 <warlord> and if you ARE using the biz features, you only need one A/R and one A/P account.
19:02:43 <warlord> Most likely you really just want it to be a Liability.
19:02:48 <warlord> BIAW.
19:02:55 <Dave_is_sexy> Oh. Not sure if I'm using business features. Seems, linguistically, to be an account payable... in that it's an account which I have to pay
19:03:19 <Dave_is_sexy> Google doesn't know BIAW ;-)
19:03:34 <Dave_is_sexy> I'll try changing them to liabilities
19:03:59 <Dave_is_sexy> Aw, now the column headings don't say bill & payment
19:04:45 <Dave_is_sexy> Think I'll leave it as A/P. Can't turn off the double lines?

22:47:57 <Logan> I had a question about the Income Statement report and it's not behaving as I expected. Under the Revenue section it lists Income and each of the sub-accounts of Income. If I want the subtotal for the parent account (Income) I select this option in the options menu. However, the children accounts are expanded and I don't want to see them, I just want to see the parent account. Yet if I collapse the tree in the options, then it simply sho
22:50:21 <Logan> To reproduce: Run the Income Statement Report. Under Options select Display and then change Parent Account Balances to "Subtotal". When applied, this displays as desired except for the children of Income. So under the Options and then "Accounts", collapse the Income account. Now Income subtotal shows zero (in my case since I don't have any transactions in the parent, just the children).
