02:47:50 <Simon> the "file already locked" on open dialog box needs to be visible on the taskbar :/
02:48:22 <Simon> actually it might not even be that - I bet it's the SX dialog that pops up
02:48:32 <Simon> and then it's still locked when I kill it because I can't see the window
02:48:55 <Simon> and then I can't see the "file locked" window either because I usually switch window to something else while waiting for gnucash to load

08:10:40 <warlord> SpacedOut: Yeah, I think you're right that that would be an issue, assuming the ofx account info is the same for both.. But I don't know why that would be the case -- the ira and investment accounts should have different account numbers
08:10:55 <warlord> Simon: well, don't change windows.. ;)
08:13:21 <warlord> The 'locked' icon appears relatively quickly in the load process.
08:13:26 <warlord> (er, dialog, not icon)
08:13:42 <warlord> The SX SLR window appears later, true.

12:02:20 <gjanssens> warlord: that's exactly what I was testing
12:02:55 <gjanssens> See the mail I sent for more details
12:03:15 <warlord> Ah, cool. ok.
12:03:16 <gjanssens> As far as I'm concerned the gitolite repos are ready for production
12:03:55 <gjanssens> We just need to publish a small announcement about the upcoming reset
12:04:24 <gjanssens> And can forward it particularly to the people that forked our repos at github
12:04:57 <gjanssens> john's not on irc atm, so better continue this conversation on the list (where he raised the same point)
12:05:05 <warlord> Well, we still need to write the appropriate gitolite hook(s) to push out..
12:05:14 <warlord> Yep.

13:56:11 <warlord> I disagree. Not every pop-up dialog should be a fully fledged window.
13:57:32 <warlord> however you are right that the pop-up dialogs should be on top of the gnucash main window..
13:57:54 <warlord> (instead of potentially behind it... and instead of coming up on a different window if you're moving around)
13:58:31 <warlord> feel free to file a bug report on that.
14:09:46 *** Topcat has joined #gnucash
14:14:50 <Simon> the problem is that there is no gnucash main window and so nothing in the taskbar, so the dialog is lost
14:15:17 <Simon> I'll file a bug report soon... need to fix the issue by making SX dialog optional first

15:24:05 <alliebean> Hi, all. Hopefully this isn't too silly of a question, but, using GnuCash on Linux, I have my files/transaction logs all in a specific directory. But for some reason, GnuCash seems to save files in that directory AND in the parent directory. Any idea how to stop this?
15:24:32 <alliebean> This is version 2.4.11 on a RHEL 6 box
15:24:51 <warlord> Um, what gets saved in the parent directory?>
15:25:31 <alliebean> oh wait, hold a second... I may be wrong
15:27:18 <alliebean> It's the finances.gnucash files (and the ones that end in .log) ... but, I've got a kind of wonky setup with this saving to a WebDAV mounted folder. It looks like it's saving them in the parent directory, but, it may be some other voodoo going on.
15:29:33 <alliebean> Yeah, sorry, that's what it's doing. I realized that as soon as I finished typing out my question. :(

20:22:56 <iamme> Hi, Using GnuCash Portable v2.4.11 from portableapps.com. Trying to get on-line price updating to work and installed perlportable from portableapps.com, but GnuCash security editor still says "Warning: Finance::Quote not installed properly." Ran "perl gnc-fq-dump nyse VZ" test program and got today's price. Google'd and only found fragmented instructions. Any suggestions?

23:07:42 <FragO> and came across gnucash
23:07:52 <FragO> any contractors in here that use gnucash?
23:07:58 <FragO> wanted to know your experiance.
23:08:40 <FragO> he's small business, 2 employees, not more than 7 small jobs at any given point in time
