13:35:07 <r0bis> hi all, I am an enthusiastic newbie; when I enter transaction in checking account register, I like the basic ledeger view. However if I want to enter a memo, I need to switch view to auto-split ledger just so that I can access the memo field.
13:35:08 <r0bis> Would there be some _keyboard_ shortcut so i can enter my memo without grabbing the mouse to change views. Much appreciated...
13:41:46 <warlord> r0bis: there is also the Split toolbar button..
13:42:45 *** fell__ has quit IRC
13:43:40 <warlord> ... and Actions -> Split Transaction.
13:43:53 <warlord> You could add a Gtk keyboard shortcut to the latter menu option
13:44:07 <warlord> BUt no, there is no pre-existing keyboard shortcut to toggle Split mode
13:52:15 <r0bis> many thanks warlord
13:52:53 <warlord> you're welcome
13:53:13 <r0bis> I guess I can use the view->double-line option. It shows me note line below every transaction
13:54:01 <r0bis> how does one go about adding GTK shortcut if I am using gnuCash also on Windows?
14:00:17 <warlord> Honestly I dont know. When I need to make a split txn I click on the toolbar
14:08:55 <r0bis> Yeah, split is OK - it occurs with low frequency (for me). A memo I want to enter a lot more often :)
14:12:01 <warlord> You mean txn notes?
14:16:01 <r0bis> yes, that is what I mean
14:16:24 <r0bis> just something to remind me what I spent that money on and so that I could search for it
14:21:57 <warlord> Okay

22:57:34 <endikos> Hey folks! I'm trying to run GNUCash on OSX, but no windows beyond the initial loading screen with the progress indicator will open. I'm running OSX Lion. Any ideas what could be wrong?
