00:41:29 <muhoo> thanks
00:41:55 <muhoo> ok, then i'll end up writing a custom system of sorts, probably.

08:34:24 <warlord> muhoo: I suggest you use Gnucash for the accounting parts and then you can write another system for the other parts. If you wanted to write an accounting module for GnuCash I would certainly encourage that, but it probably would need to be written mostly in C instead of Scheme.

13:26:23 <arbortender1> I'm not seeing any way to customize the toolbar (say, add a 'Find' button). Is there a way?
13:27:32 <warlord> No
13:49:12 <kimmo> hey derek, are the custom menus created in 2.2.9 usable as such in 2.4.7? Income statement, Balance sheet customized
13:49:23 <arbortender1> ok thanks.
13:50:10 <warlord> kimmo: You mean your custom reports? I do not believe that 2.2.x custom reports can carry over to 2.4
13:50:47 <kimmo> dang
13:51:27 <kimmo> is the data file, unencrypted, forwards and backwards compatible?
13:51:35 <warlord> yes
13:52:50 <kimmo> cool
13:52:58 <kimmo> I guess I'll have to give it a shot then
13:53:43 <warlord> You should be able to take your 2.2.9 data file, open it in 2.4.x, make a change, and reload it into 2.2. However that's not *always* guaranteed. Make sure you keep backups.
13:54:12 <warlord> (the 2.x -> 2.y Y>X is usually guaranteed .. Going back isn't always well-tested.)
13:54:23 <kimmo> yeah
13:55:12 <kimmo> I guess at 2.4.7 it's been out long enough to rule out any data corruption possibilities
13:55:28 <kimmo> has the empty txns in general ledger been corrected?
13:55:33 <warlord> especially if you stick with XML
13:55:38 <warlord> I dont know.
13:55:52 <kimmo> ok, that's been quite annoying in 2.2.9
13:56:04 <warlord> check the bug in BZ
13:56:19 <kimmo> I don't think I could be bothered _that_ much ;)

15:58:44 <DimStar> Hi everybody... I've seen there was some work happening around guile-2 support on gnucash... With all the patches from svn I got it to build, but the test suite fails on 3 checks and, oh surprise, the app does not work (splash appears then disappears)

15:59:31 <DimStar> http://paste.opensuse.org/67505243 is a log from make check
16:00:13 <warlord> I suspect there are API differences.
16:01:01 <DimStar> Very likely... sadly, from all the mailinglist communications it seemed like it should be resolved...
16:01:22 <DimStar> (running into the issue that the 'next' version of openSUSE will ship guile 2... so currently we have a broken gnucash on it)
16:02:19 <DimStar> And I don't know anything about how guile works.. so stuff like ;;; ERROR: no code for module (sw_gnc_module) does not help me much.

18:11:06 <Silly> Is there a key combination that goes to the next field /without/ doing auto complete? (tab goes to the next one but then it auto completes...)
19:42:47 <arbortender> Can a list of future scheduled transactions be viewed? I looked at the FST summary...not like that, but a concise detailed list with payees, dates, amounts, and paying accounts of all future scheduled payments. There was a list (no amount or account info though) in a separate window, with one outstanding transaction (since last run?) and below that the several others I'd set up. That was until this morning when the one transaction
