01:51:34 <awayand> good morning everyone
01:52:17 <awayand> trying to get finance::quotes installed on win32 using strawberry perl. Any pointers? My gnc-check script keeps saying that I have the latest version installed and then says it is missing and I have to install it....

10:27:15 <hypatia> hey folks, i've finished that patch to change the case insensitive button, and i'm wondering what the best process is to submit both the patch and the translations of it
10:27:35 <hypatia> fortunately the text is the same as some text in Firefox, so i can just copy all of their translations
10:27:46 <hypatia> (i changed the phrasing to "Match case" as that's more clear)
10:37:59 <warlord> hypatia: bugzilla
10:38:25 <hypatia> warlord: ok, cool :)
10:38:30 *** ErKa has joined #gnucash
10:38:34 <hypatia> now i just have to figure out this pot file business
10:38:34 <hypatia> :s
10:41:14 <warlord> hypatia: IIRC: "make pot"
10:43:18 <hypatia> yeah it's not finding my updated string in the code, even after make clean / make pot
10:44:05 <hypatia> also, more generally - should i submit the fix and the translations as a single patch, or two separate ones?
10:46:03 <warlord> did you add a new file?
10:46:14 <warlord> Maybe you didn't mark the string for translation?
10:46:36 <hypatia> it was already in the .po files
10:46:41 <hypatia> but i changed the string in the source
10:47:01 <hypatia> it's src/gnome-search/search-string.c line 329 for reference
10:47:03 <warlord> Separately. Indeed, there is some argument that you shouldn't patch the translations and instead should leave it to the translation team.
10:47:12 <hypatia> yeah, that was what i was concerned about
10:47:14 <warlord> If it was already in the .po files then it wont matter.
10:47:22 <hypatia> it was, but i changed the content
10:47:36 <hypatia> Case Insensitive? --> Match case
10:48:11 <hypatia> i would normally leave it to the translation folks but the same string with the same usage exists in firefox
10:48:17 <hypatia> so i can just pull it from there for all languages
10:48:23 *** ErKa has quit IRC
10:48:31 <hypatia> perhaps this is overly ambitious :)
10:49:50 <warlord> It is... because generally the translators work on the .po files and might not appreciate the po file changing out from under them.
10:50:02 *** fbond has joined #gnucash
10:50:13 <warlord> You're welcome to submit the po-files as an additional patch. Christian can decide whether to apply
10:51:42 <hypatia> warlord: that sounds like a plan
10:52:42 <hypatia> i just don't want to leave things in a bad state - is there something i'm missing about getting the changed label to be reflected in the .po?
10:52:51 <hypatia> let me paste a diff, warlord
10:53:17 <warlord> Possibly..
10:53:27 <warlord> did you re-run the msgmerge after you ran "make pot"?
10:53:52 <hypatia> ooh no, i missed that
10:54:16 <warlord> That would be why.
10:54:22 <warlord> Is your string in gnucash.pot?
10:54:29 <hypatia> i misread the instrucgtions :(
10:55:28 <hypatia> thanks for being patient with me, warlord - i'm totally over my head here :)
