2011-01-09 GnuCash IRC logs
00:02:49 <mechgt> Out of 90k lines, there were two that didn't have a line break from the transaction amount to 'CX'...
00:03:16 <mechgt> it read: Tnnn.nnCX
00:03:31 <mechgt> (where n's were some number)
00:05:04 <fell> nice, you should eventually file a bug against moneydance.
00:05:26 <mechgt> yeah, I was thinking the same thing.
00:11:27 <mechgt> Rock on... I'm all imported. Thanks for the help!
00:12:33 <fell> You are welcome.

11:01:02 <warlord> daedeloth: usually via salary or by a "capital deposit" or "capital withdrawal" (depending on which way the money flows)
11:03:18 <daedeloth> at the moment I've made a new account capital that's in the red
11:04:12 <warlord> Yes, it will be.
11:04:18 <warlord> (it should be an equity account)
11:04:44 <daedeloth> yea it's equity, just translated wrong :) it sais "vermogen" :p

11:12:02 <daedeloth> warlord, is there any way to make my own report, like write a script for it somehow?
11:12:38 <daedeloth> or a way to define what amounts should be counted
11:12:57 <daedeloth> I always spend hours trying to figure out the figures for my VAT registration :)

18:23:10 <tazle> is there some subset of QIF that would specify e.g. date format with 4-digit years that gnucash would parse correctly?
18:23:36 <tazle> or some other better-specified data format that I could go through when importing my bank transactions into gnucash?

18:31:03 *** warlord-afk is now known as warlord
18:31:41 <warlord> tazle: GnuCash handles any of d-m-y, m-d-y, y-m-d, and y-d-m. And it can use many different separator characters.
18:31:51 <warlord> You just need to be consistent within a data file.
18:31:56 <warlord> using 4-digit years helps.
