04:48:38 <p00t> Does anyone here know how to do multicolumn journal reports?
04:49:19 *** fell has quit IRC
04:53:13 <p00t> The "normal" journal has just a debit and a credit column. I would like to be able to do a report where there is one column per account.
04:53:42 <p00t> But i was hoping that i didn't need to do any hacking to get that done...

13:54:19 <Ron_> I have been using gnucash 2.2.9 Would love to upgrade to newest version but am baffled on how to install. Primarily with the following line.... To install GnuCash, you will need Gnome 2, guile, slib Where do I go for those pieces of software? I have my file saved in my documents and will uninstall the old version. Then I will install the new version by going to this link ...
13:54:20 <Ron_> ...http://sourceforge.net/projects/gnucash/files/gnucash%20%28stable%29/2.4.0/gnucash-2.4.0-setup.exe/download Then what would be next? Thanks
13:54:51 <warlord> Ron_: what OS/Distro?
13:54:59 <warlord> I take it Win32?
13:55:09 <Ron_> windows XP
13:55:15 <warlord> If so, just un-install 2.2.9 and install the 2.4.0 that you have.
13:55:23 <warlord> (or would get from that URL)
13:55:36 <warlord> Those instructions are all about building it yourself, which you don't have to do.
13:56:17 <Ron_> Perferct, I will do that. OK Thank you so much. Congrats on getting new version out
13:56:27 <warlord> thanks

14:28:47 <Mer|in> are python-bindings enabled in the win32 build of 2.4.0?
14:35:07 <warlord> i doubt it

16:41:44 <LordMetroid> are liabilities suppose to be a negative or positive value for a loan?
16:43:12 <warlord> Depends on how you have it to display. GnuCash can "sign-reverse" certain accounts to make it more palatable to humans.
16:43:37 <warlord> By default, Liabilities are sign-reversed. So, "positive" when you owe money (because that's the usual state)
16:43:55 <warlord> It would look strange if you saw your credit card bill at $2000, but gnucash said "-2000"
16:44:28 <helix7> ls
16:44:35 <helix7> sorry
16:46:35 <LordMetroid> At the moment in the Liabilities:loan it says I have increased it by the opening balance
16:47:29 <LordMetroid> That is correct, right?
16:57:58 <warlord> Assuming you had a balance on the loan prior to your accounting start date, yes

17:43:29 <tlatoani> Hi, are you guys going to update the main page at gnucash.org so that the "download" div mentions the new version and the links are pointed towards the newest version?
