08:16:15 <warlord> jmd: unless you're in germany, it buys you nothing.
08:16:26 <warlord> if you're IN germany, it lets you connect to your german bank
08:16:39 <warlord> .. from it you can download your transactions and also initiate transfers.
08:22:06 *** Jimraehl has left #gnucash
08:23:05 <jmd> warlord, My bank want 15 Euros to give me the capability. I'm considering if it
08:23:12 <jmd> is worthwhile.
08:23:52 <jmd> Why won't it work if I leave Germany?
08:38:50 <warlord> HBCI only exists in Germany -- you don't physically have to be in Germany, but your bank needs to be a German bank

08:42:47 <warlord> anyways, gotta run.

09:24:24 <fell> jmd: if the price includes a cardreader with keypad, it is the price woth.
09:24:35 <fell> worth
09:27:51 <fell> because then you get the most secure mode.
09:37:24 <jmd> fell, Why would I need a cardreader?
09:38:19 <fell> HBCI/FinTS offers different modi:
09:39:05 <fell> PIN/TAN, iTAN, mTAN, keyfile and keycard
09:40:17 <fell> keycard with a cardreader with numpad is the most secure, because it avoids keyloggers.

09:41:13 <fell> keylogger attacks.
09:47:53 <fell> We have a german wiki page http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/De/HBCI , which is fairly outdated, but the links are useful.
09:53:11 <jmd> fell, Thanks.
09:53:32 <fell> welcome

09:59:23 <jmd> Is this AqBanking thing still needed? The web page doesn't say where to get it.
10:00:36 <fell> Yes, it is the library, which does the HBCI stuff.
10:00:56 <fell> Wich OS/Distro are you using?
10:01:35 <jmd> Debain
10:01:39 <jmd> Debian
10:01:55 <fell> apt get?
10:03:12 <jmd> It's a dynamically loaded library?
10:04:12 <fell> I don't know, in which way it was built.
10:04:26 <fell> you might need the alioth repo.
10:06:33 <jmd> ok thanks.
10:07:46 <fell> If you find it, can you update http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Debian ?
10:08:19 <fell> There is only a section for the older verssions.
10:09:13 <jmd> OK. I'll make a note to do that if and when I've got it all working.
10:09:55 <fell> Thx

12:49:59 <cjs> I'm having a bit of trouble trying to get invoices/reports to print and look the way I want. Working with the mac port. Is there a way to set the default font when printing? Short of that I'm looking at an HTML export with quite a bit of css work post-export.

13:49:17 <fell> cjs: I don't know anything about the macports, but usually you can adjust fonts in the gnome contrl center.
13:50:08 <cjs> fell: yeah, unfortnately, the mac version of gnucash seems to ignore the system font settings. Either there's a hidden preference I can't find somewhere, or it just has something hardcoded.
13:50:22 <cjs> looks like sans 12 if I had to guess
13:50:57 <fell> Also you could play around with the different invoice templates, stylesheets, and HTML tags .
13:51:01 <jmd> cjs, I seriously doubt it's been hardcoded in gnucash.
13:51:25 <jmd> Do other gtk+ apps respect the font setting?
13:52:01 <cjs> fell: i've played with the stylesheets a bit, but it has no font settings there
13:52:26 <cjs> jmd: you wouldn't think so, but it is getting it from somewhere .. it isn't even the same font it uses for on-screen display, it's strictly what it is using when it goes to print
13:52:27 <fell> which GC version are you using?
13:52:45 <cjs> 2.2.9
13:53:03 <cjs> jmd: as for other gtk+ apps, I can't say, I don't think I've used any in a while.
13:55:37 <fell> And which part do you try to adjust?

20:39:29 <davidwhite> Hey folks. I've got an issue I'm having trouble solving. Due to user error, I had a duplicate invoice for one of my "vendors", so I fixed it by deleting all the transactions for that vendor and starting over (I only had a few bills for that particular vendor). However, I must be missing something - When I go to "pay" the last outstanding invoice, which is for $25.95, I am only asked to pay $6. I have verified in the Vendor Report that
20:39:54 <davidwhite> first off all, I hope I'm making sense, and second of all, I'm hoping someone can help me track down the missing $19+
20:41:13 <davidwhite> My balance sheet says that there is $25.95 in Accounts Payable
20:41:18 <davidwhite> mentally, I know that this is correct
20:42:41 <davidwhite> ah... I think I finally found my issue by examining the Accounts Payable sheet
