11:44:01 <Sir_Konrad> boo.
12:00:32 *** ErKa has quit IRC
12:12:44 <Sir_Konrad> can I make a suggestion for the next version of GNUCash?
12:17:00 <jsled> of course
12:20:34 <Sir_Konrad> jsled: can we change the "Delete" button on the delete dialog boxes to the left side? It's not consistant with most operating system UI and I always end up clicking "Cancel" on accident. XD
12:21:31 <Sir_Konrad> I notice it the most when deleting accounts.
12:21:39 <jsled> for something like that, you should file a bug. detail the platform's HIG treatment of the location of delete buttons in the issue.
12:22:58 <Sir_Konrad> jsled: HIG Treatment?
12:23:00 <Sir_Konrad> what's that?
12:23:31 <jsled> Human Interface Guidelines' description of where dialog delete buttons should be placed
12:23:42 <Sir_Konrad> ah...
12:24:23 <Sir_Konrad> jsled: so I should file this as a GNUCash bug or a GNOME HIG bug?
12:24:33 <jsled> uh, gnucash
12:24:40 <Sir_Konrad> that's what I thought.
12:24:40 <jsled> why would you file a gnome hig bug?
12:24:46 <Sir_Konrad> just making sure.

17:47:05 <vanagon> Is there a way to assign categories based on regular expressions at the time of QIF import? I.e., anything matching EXXON* gets categorized under Auto::gas. I have a lot of transactions that are nearly the same but need to be manually categorized each time because the memo field is slightly different. Seems like a good target for automation.
17:47:23 *** warlord-afk is now known as warlord
17:47:24 <warlord> vanagon: no
17:48:16 <vanagon> t warlord: bummer. Any other similar solutions? There's no way to operate on multiple transactions, right?
17:49:24 <warlord> The qif importer works on full strings, so modify the QIF so that all 'EXXON*' strings are "EXXON"
17:50:09 <vanagon> warlord: that's a good idea. thanks.
17:51:24 <vanagon> warlord: I also found this: http://dgtlmoon.com/qif_gnucash_python_preprocessor I was thinking there might be an internal solution but if not than maybe I'll try this out.
17:54:02 <warlord> maybe
