07:42:04 *** warlord-afk is now known as warlord
07:54:30 <kimmo> warlord, is there a gconftool wrapper somewhere in gnucash, to set user-specific /apps/schemas/gnucash/**/* values?
07:55:03 <warlord> not in gnucash. gconf-editor
07:55:35 <warlord> (well, there is the prefs UI in gnucash, but it does not let you set arbitrary entries in gconf)
07:58:42 <kimmo> when you get around to it, you might want to add /apps/schemas/gnucash/history/maxfiles there as a gui-configurable value
07:59:51 <kimmo> I just hacked away with gconftool2 -s but I know a few small business owners who are more like a typical ceo/accoutant type rather than the hacker type
08:03:10 <warlord> why? The serious average user doesn't have more than 4 files. Why add an option that's useful for maybe 1% of the population?
08:04:21 <kimmo> the option's already there
08:04:47 <kimmo> I have 8 files that I use at least once every 2 months

19:39:44 <x12o> Question: I'm new to gnucash and interested in the MySQL feature. If I start using 2.2.9 stable now and later upgrade to the next stable release, will I have to do anything special to move my existing data to a MySQL database? Or will gnucash transfer all existing (past) data without interaction?
19:41:03 <jsled> I'm pretty sure it'll be as easy as File > Save As...
19:42:09 <x12o> Excellent! Thank you for the info.
19:43:05 <x12o> And thank you to the development team for creating the program and their hard work. Since my move to Linux, I was hoping for a financial program.
