10:15:34 <loxs> folks, a question about English language
10:15:39 <loxs> what would be the right way to say
10:15:52 <loxs> Credit Note regarding? invoice number 1234
10:16:08 <loxs> to/about/for invoice?
10:16:32 <loxs> or some other way to say this?

10:25:00 *** warlord sets mode: +o gncbot
10:25:31 <warlord> loxs: I think it would depend on context, but I would think 'for' is the most likely candidate, however I could construct sentences where any of those would work.
10:26:21 <loxs> is it safe to print any of those to clients :)
10:30:12 *** fell has joined #gnucash
10:31:35 <fell> warlord: timeout error on svn.gnucash.org.
10:31:51 <warlord> fell: how long ago?
10:32:02 <fell> I try since 5 min.
10:32:48 <warlord> Yeah, wait a few minutes and try again. I think the system is showing signs of a bad disk; I'm working on debugging it. I did an emergency reboot an hour ago and it seemed to help for a little while but now it seems to be coming back.
10:33:17 <warlord> loxs: In what context? Give me the full sentence you plan to say.
10:33:39 <warlord> fell: it looks like it's responding again now.
10:34:09 <loxs> warlord, I will be printing exactly that, as a h1/h2 to a printed document: "credit note to/for/regarding invoice number 232"
10:34:09 <loxs> and below the stuff that's in the credit note
10:34:14 <warlord> loxs: any of those is fine. Most likely "for" or "regarding" is closer, but any of them work.
10:34:26 <warlord> I.e., there is no "right answer"
10:34:26 <loxs> thanks a lot

13:35:44 <Simon> I can't seem to create an Income account with a non-currency type...
13:36:15 <warlord> Simon: correct, you cant
13:38:09 <warlord> What kind of non-currency income are you receiving that has no currency value?
13:39:27 <Simon> bonus shares
13:41:10 <warlord> Bonus shares still have value (the market/strike price)
13:41:24 <warlord> .. and are still considered income (at some currency value)

17:58:40 <seyfi> what does expense voucher mean in GC? like a checque, or a receipt?
18:01:49 <warlord> Neither; it's when an "employee" purchases stuff on behalf of the company. It's somewhat like a vendor (money the company owes to somoene) but it's to an employee instead of an outside company.
18:03:38 <seyfi> ok, got it.
18:04:53 <warlord> :)
18:06:02 <seyfi> it's like a receipt actually, but the company prepares it rather than the vendor.
18:06:13 <seyfi> cause there's no vendor
18:08:12 <seyfi> thanks, have to go to bed.
