07:47:27 <lupin_sansei> Hello, I'm having issues importing OFX files from my bank. I did a large import last week with a few months worth of data, and did an import this week containing a week's worth of data, but Gnucash only "detected" one transcation even though there was about 10. Looking at the OFX file most of the recents ones have a blank FTDID.
07:48:34 <lupin_sansei> ... Warlord mentioned that empty FITIDs would be ignored, but I looked at the original import and that had loads of transactions without FITIDs that weren't ignored.
07:52:49 <lupin_sansei> I was hoping I could export OFX from my bank each week and import all that into Gnucash

09:52:45 <snitka> stupid newbie question: I'd like to select multiple transactions and perform some actions such as transferring them all to the same account. is there a way to do this?

10:30:19 <warlord> lupin_sansei: So here's the thing.. The importer only compares FITID against existing transactions; it assumes that FITIDs in the file are unique. So after your first import you now have an existing transaction with an empty FITID, so *now* the empty FITID matches data, and is now ignored.
10:30:32 <warlord> This is probably a bug..
10:30:36 <warlord> .. you should report it.
10:31:47 <warlord> snitka: if you read the logs.. In general, no, there is not a way to operate on multiple transactions at once.. EXCEPT if you want to move *all* transactions from one account into another.. In that one particular case you can just delete the account and then select the new account where to move the files. (historically it would only let you move it to the parent account)(
10:31:58 <warlord> gotta run again
