13:19:51 <piropiro> hello everybody
13:20:14 <piropiro> i'd like to know the best way to interact with gnucash. I explain...
13:20:33 <piropiro> I have several movements automatically generated every day by our system
13:20:50 <piropiro> I'd like our accountant to use gnucash to enter a few manual movement
13:21:09 <piropiro> and the automatic movements fed to gnucash in some way
13:21:16 <piropiro> I'm studying how
13:21:34 <piropiro> first stab is to convert our systems movements in a .qif file
13:22:24 *** ErKa has quit IRC
13:22:37 <piropiro> It works but it requires too much manual intervention, e.g. to map the accounts
13:23:10 <piropiro> So i'd like to know if there is a way to automatise the "druid", or a programmatic way to enter the answer
13:23:26 <piropiro> there is also the problem of having an incremental file
13:23:48 <piropiro> so I don't know if the .qif should only contain the "new" movements
13:24:05 <piropiro> and then I would need a way to ask gnucash what is the "last movement imported"
13:24:52 <piropiro> or the .qif should contain all the movements? it takes manual intervention to detect the duplicate one, and generally probably doesn't scale as mush as we want
13:25:56 <piropiro> so, anyway, any tips about how to push transactions into gnucash is welcome, thanks.
13:28:02 <piropiro> alternatively to .qif - would it be better to use gnucash 2.4 and create all the movements I want adding records in a postgres database?

17:01:23 <warlord> piropiro: Well, the account mapping is memorized, so the second time you import it will remember the mapping from the Qif Category or Payee/Memo to the GNC Account. So you only really have to do that once manually (assuming you have similar transactions)
17:02:05 <warlord> Adding records directly into the database is not supported. The only supported way is through the UI or via the GnuCash API
