00:01:02 <me> i.e. there a way to close to empty workplace
00:01:16 <me> ops
00:01:46 <me> i meant there is no-way to close to empty workplace w/o closing the reports one by one
00:02:01 <jsled> File > Close?
00:02:08 <me> i dont know if i explain it correctly
00:02:09 <jsled> oh.
00:02:09 <jsled> heh.
00:02:23 <me> it is grey
00:02:24 <jsled> I see what you're saying. And, yeah, it's lame.
00:02:27 <me> greyed
00:02:30 <me> :)
00:02:32 <jsled> Right.
00:02:40 <jsled> File > Exit, then `gnucash --nofile`.
00:02:49 <jsled> will start up without any file opened.
00:03:11 <me> i see.. ok .. that works too.. :).
00:03:14 <jsled> But … you can also just File > Exit. Or File > Open… another file.
00:03:21 <jsled> Why do you want an "empty workplace" ?
00:04:56 <me> cause i didn't know i can reopen new file and still have workplace saved
00:05:04 <me> did it once some versions ago
00:05:38 <me> ie, had to close the reports..and never tried it again
00:05:59 <me> cause didnt want to lose all the manual settings of the reports
00:06:04 <me> :)
00:11:39 <me> thanx

07:57:31 <frozenjim1> I have chosen "Canadian Dollars" as my default currency and that is working well. But visually everything still seems geared to U.S. dollars. For instance, in my Chart of Accounts all values are still prefaced with CAD while U.S. cash accounts have no preface. It really clutters up the screen. Is there some way to reverse this so that only the "foreign" values are prefaced with their currency indicator?

08:16:37 <warlord> intangir: not sure what you mean by "cancel a split".. Do you mean un-expand the transaction? If so, just click the "Split" button again. If you mean "revert it from a split txn and make it a basic txn" then you need to delete some of the splits.

08:20:44 <warlord> frozenjim_: in case you missed my response: change your computer's locale to en_CA
08:21:11 <frozenjim_> Yep, done so and restarted Gnome session. Perfect solution (don't I feel silly now?)
