10:10:50 <mib_5x3ddhuxmnpg> I have invoiced a customer that I no longer expect to pay. I'm trying to find documentation on the right way to write off bad debt. I created 'bad debt' expense account and did a transfer from AR to it but the invoice still appears in the aging report.

10:59:01 <warlord> mib_5x3ddhuxmnpg: delete the transaction you created, then Process Payment for the invoice. After you proces the payment change the account from Checking to your Bad Debt.

12:19:48 <warlord> It sounds like you're changing the txn so that instead of AR->Checking it's Expense->Checking, which is not what you want. You want the txn to be AR->Expense.
