10:53:00 <Jeremy> Thanks Warlord
10:53:19 <Jeremy> I have entered in those tax tables and all is working well
10:54:06 <Jeremy> I have another question. Is there a way to separate the taxes on the invoice? as of now it shows up as "Taxable"
10:55:41 *** warlord-afk is now known as warlord
10:55:55 <warlord> Yes, in the invoice report options you can turn on "show individual taxes"
11:03:32 <Jeremy> Thanks again Warlord
11:05:13 <Jeremy> Is there a way to show the GST and PST on each item? instead of the bottom?
11:05:36 <warlord> No
11:06:00 <Jeremy> Is there a way to show which taxes where applied on each item?
11:06:17 <Jeremy> perhaps tax table wise
11:07:04 <warlord> Ummm.... Not without hacking the report.
11:08:12 <Jeremy> is it xml
11:09:02 <warlord> The report generators are scheme
11:10:30 <Jeremy> I think I am going to be over my head for that. Thanks for letting me know
11:10:37 <Jeremy> are you an accountant?
11:11:02 <warlord> nope.
11:12:03 <Jeremy> Just a handy gnucash user? Developer? I guess I am asking how you know so much about this program?
11:12:36 <warlord> I think it's safe to say I know it extremely well. ;)

11:13:38 <Jeremy> Thanks Warlord. I have to run. I wish there was a way to run estimates. do you know of any way to run and save estimates?
11:14:10 <Jeremy> I will be back
11:14:40 <skyteam> Hallo,
11:14:42 <skyteam> I’m quite new with gCash and have right now installed Version 2.3.8.
11:14:44 <skyteam> I have the following problem and hope to find here an answer:
11:14:45 <skyteam> I have from my bank accounts several MT940-Files which I want to import now in gCash.
11:14:46 <skyteam> To import the first is no problem, but if I want to import a second Bank Account-File there is no possibility to change the Account in gCash in which it will be imported.
11:14:48 <skyteam> I tried now first with 2.2.9 (stable version) changed to 2.3.8 (instable version) and I also tried to get a workaround with exporting data, which also led in error messages.
11:14:50 <skyteam> Has anybody an idea how I could handle this. Thank you very much in advance.
11:14:51 <skyteam> skyteam
11:15:37 <warlord> Jeremy: what do you mean by "estimates"? You can create an invoice but not post it.. but then print it....
11:16:26 <warlord> skyteam: I suspect you'll get more traction on the gnucash-user mailing list; there's more people there who are more familiar with AqBanking.
11:18:13 <skyteam> warlord: Thanks I will try.

13:06:59 <Jeremy> I have created an invoice, and have not posted. Can the print say Estimate instead of invoice? How do I post it later?
13:37:43 <Jeremy> oh figured one of those out. I can post by opening the invoice again. I can't post by opening the invoice in the report form
14:11:55 <thomas> I am trying to build 2.3.8 on Ubuntu 9.04. I used configure --enable-dbi, then make, and I get errors
14:11:59 <thomas> /usr/local/lib/gnucash/libgncmod-report-gnome.so: undefined reference to `gnc_html_copy'

15:52:43 <Jeremy> Thomas you should be able to install right from the repositories "sudo apt-get install gnucash"
15:56:15 <thomas> Jeremy - yes - that gives me version 2.2.6. I'm good now on 2.3.8, just trying to move my custom invoice from 2.2.9
16:04:44 <Jeremy> thomas I am trying to make two custom invoices...... I am trying to find the files that I need to customize. I am on ubuntu as well.
16:05:34 <Jeremy> thomas did you look to see if there is a ppa package for gnucash. that should be the latest. you could add that to the repo list, make for an easy update
16:07:11 <Jeremy> I should add that I can add a custom scheme in gnucash. But I want to manually edit to change the "INVOICE" to "ESTIMATE" in that custom scheme. Can't find the file
16:07:32 <thomas> For me they are in /usr/local/share/gnucash/guile-modules/gnucash/report
16:09:00 <Jeremy> looking there now. but I don't see a trial.scm as I have created a trial scheme in gnucash

17:24:28 <warlord> (make sure you change the name AND the guid)
17:25:26 <thomas> warlord - in 2.3.8 no change to business-report.scm is required?
17:25:42 <warlord> Nope.
17:25:52 <warlord> It searches the report dir and auto-loads all the files

17:53:49 <Jeremy> Ok I have edited the estimate.scm file and put in ~/gnucash folder. I have created ~/gnucashe/config.user. in this file I have put in (define-module (gnucash report Printable Estimate))
17:53:49 <Jeremy> (load-from-path "/home/jeremyking/.gnucash/estimate.scm") I have chowned to root and chmod 777. Now there are now errors when it loads it just does the splash screen and quits
17:55:05 <warlord> Check gnucash.trace -- however what you did is incorrect.
17:55:16 <warlord> You don't "define-module" in your config.user
17:57:41 <Jeremy> where is gnucash.trace. I have now deleted the define module line and the result is the same
18:00:08 <thomas> jeremy - try (load "estimate.scm") as the only line in you config.usr
18:03:36 <Jeremy> Thanks I have got it to load and have the module in the report section. However I will need to find more "Invoice" in the scm to replace with "Estimate".

18:33:15 <Jeremy> I can't seem to find the text for "Invoice #" or "Invoice Date" or "Due Date" in the invoice.scm file. Can anyone find them?
18:33:57 <warlord> Sure:
18:34:02 <warlord> (make-date-row! date-table (_ "Due Date") due-date)
18:34:59 <warlord> As for "Invoice #" --- It's probably getting that from the invoice object.
18:35:25 <warlord> check default-title
18:40:08 <Jeremy> I can't believe i missed that. I searched with gedit 3 times at least. I don't like asking for stuff I should be able to find.
18:41:20 <Jeremy> lol warlord. I just came across your name in the file. all I can say is WOW. you definitly know a lot about gnucash. and you are way to humble

19:29:29 <thomas> warlord - regarding new reports in 2.3.8, if I just save a new report.scm, I don't get anything in the Report menus. Am I doing it wrong?
19:34:14 <warlord> Yes, there's already a file named 'report.scm' -- make sure you have a unique filename, and inside the report you'll need a unique report name and unique guid.. and then restart gnucash
19:37:41 <thomas> sorry - i said 'report.scm' only to be generic. my file name is psi-invoice.scm, it has all the changes you mentioned, and works fine when I change business-reports.scm to add my reports with (use-modules (gnucash report psi-invoice))
