04:04:58 <kronn> hi
04:06:13 <kronn> I am currently looking for a open source solution for EBICS, which is (or will be) a european online-banking standard.
04:06:40 <kronn> AFAIK, its used in Germany and France
04:07:22 <kronn> It there any support or planned support in GnuCash for EBICS?

07:21:40 *** warlord-afk is now known as warlord
07:21:59 <warlord> kronn: you'll have to ask the AqB people. GnuCash uses AqB for all online banking needs.
07:22:28 <kronn> warlord: thanks for the info.
07:22:59 <kronn> warlord: they provide another version with ebics which is not under GPL
07:23:07 *** IanL has quit IRC
07:23:48 <warlord> well, obviously, we would need it to be under GPL.
07:35:30 *** daedeloth has joined #gnucash
07:59:41 <kronn> warlord: sure. that's why I came here. hoping you had some other library for this. But especially this EBICS stuff is available either as spec or as compiled binary. nothing in between.
08:00:33 <kronn> thanks anyway for your help, it seems I have to figure it out alone... (which would be fun, if there were testing possibilities)

14:04:06 <Lubomir> hello
14:04:21 <Lubomir> does gnucsh work with windows 7?
14:08:31 <warlord> dunno.
14:09:41 *** Jaran has joined #gnucash
14:09:53 <Lubomir> noone have tested?
14:10:29 *** ErKa has quit IRC
14:10:45 <Lubomir> is there other opensource (freeware is also ok, but prefere opensource) software for hbci banking?
14:12:43 <warlord> Definitely none that work on Windows.
14:12:55 <warlord> (at least none that I know of)
14:13:29 <Lubomir> so gnucash is the only one :)
14:13:35 <Lubomir> have to test then
14:13:54 <warlord> Why not just run Linux on your PC?
14:14:01 <Lubomir> is it possible to use hbci with class 1 reader (no pad on it)
14:14:12 <Lubomir> warlord: i used linux for 5 years
14:14:13 <Lubomir> ^^
14:14:21 <Lubomir> and did much testing
14:14:40 <Lubomir> and my name is somewhere in some kernel changelogs
14:14:46 <Lubomir> but have now enough of it :p
14:15:24 <warlord> Well, if you're willing to buy Windows then why not buy Quicken too?
14:15:42 <warlord> I have no idea what a "Class 1 reader" is. Keep in mind that HBCI is only in Germany.
14:15:49 <kimmo> I'm a certified Quicken Basic 2000 User :(
14:15:59 <kimmo> even though I've never even seen a screenshot :(
14:16:10 <warlord> kimmo: That only proves that you're certifiable. ;)
14:16:23 <Lubomir> warlord: i have 3 times windows 7 original key, ~5 windows vista and more then enough windows xp
14:16:29 <Lubomir> MSDNAA and so on
14:17:39 <Lubomir> did you have compiled an x64 version of gnucash?
14:19:24 <warlord> No, we only compile Win32
14:19:26 <warlord> not win64
14:19:35 <warlord> (and we build on XP)
14:19:36 <kimmo> I have a lin64?
14:19:38 *** kling0n has joined #gnucash
14:21:08 <warlord> We dont precompile for Linux at all.. Your distro will compile it for you.
14:29:27 <Lubomir> not when you use gentoo
14:29:27 <Lubomir> then you compile it yourself :D
14:33:29 <warlord> No, it's still your distribution building it for you... it just happens to get built in real time locally. But from the user perspective there isn't much of a difference between 'yum install gnucash', 'apt-get install gncucash', and 'port install gnucash'

15:23:41 <wuzle> This may be a dumb question, but I am setting up online banking with my bank (Citizens Bank). I found the OFX settings which a little weird, since it is a oasis.cfree.com address. Who is cfree? Anyways, when I attempt to connect, it says the "Certificate is not Trusted". Ok, so there are two things that are weirding me out, the untrusted certificate and the weird web address. Should I continue?
15:25:01 <wuzle> ...also, when I go to https://www.oasis.cfree.com/, I get the same certificate (well same MD5 fingerprint), but firefox trusts the certificate.
15:52:17 <warlord> wuzzle, cfree is probably CheckFree...
15:56:52 <wuzle> warlord: so Checkfree is a known server for OFX connections?
15:57:08 <warlord> Well, I've certainly heard of checkfree...
15:57:35 <warlord> and according to whois, cfree is CheckFree Corporation
15:58:05 <warlord> And the nameservers are ns*.checkfree.com. So yes, I think it's okay.
15:58:51 *** feisar has quit IRC
15:59:54 <wuzle> warkird: Thanks, I just thought it was two weird things and I should ask just in case.
16:00:19 <wuzle> warlord: sorry, really mispelled your name.
16:01:46 <warlord> it's okay

20:05:30 <Toba> is it possible to do automated projections of net worth over time with scheduled loan payments and interest calculations in GnuCash?
20:05:45 <Toba> I've got a few non-asset-backed loans and 1 asset backed loan.
20:06:03 <Toba> the 'gnucash tutorial and concepts guide' I downloaded focuses 100% on asset backed loans.
