03:48:37 <bastl> hello, i'm importing about 200 transactions from 3 Months via HBCI. How can I let gnucash decide to what accounts these should be booked? Many of these are similar (same store, chash withdrawal, gasoline) I think gnucash can recognize this using "description" or similar. But how can I do so at initial import?
03:50:29 <bastl> (where import is menuitem "Aktion|Onlinebanking|Umsatzabfrage" (however this is translated)
03:51:10 <bastl> and i really tried to find something about this in the docs or google. but without any luck.
04:09:19 <bastl> Hmm. Noone? Then: How does "import-matching" work? does it match incoming transactions just to my bank-account? or can it also make the cross-entry to the correct expenses-account ?
04:55:58 <bastl> I have a transaction between two bank-accounts i manage with gnucash. After import I have two transactions: say "A->B" and "B<-A". How can I merge them ?

08:44:37 *** warlord-afk is now known as warlord
08:44:50 <warlord> vbatts: What is 4.3.7?
08:46:51 <warlord> bastl: turn on Bayesian matching, then import only 1 month first.. Assign the appropriate accounts in the importer. Then importer then next two months and the importer will have learned and should do a decent job. But you still need to manually verify each one.
08:47:36 <bastl> warlord: wow: an answer 4h later :-)
08:48:16 <bastl> yeah. had that idea already. but when i tried to import only one month. it didnt accept the (premature) last date.
08:48:18 <warlord> Hey, that's what you get for asking at 4am!
08:48:37 <bastl> :-) it was 9am in germany :-)
08:48:47 <warlord> Yeah, well, most of us are in the USA.
08:48:51 <bastl> i see
08:49:17 <warlord> I dont know anything about HBCI, so not sure how to deal with the 'premature last date'...
08:49:37 <warlord> I know HBCI and OFX share some GUI, and I know you can do this with OFX.
08:49:38 <bastl> it asks for start and end date nothing todo with hbci
08:50:27 <bastl> I can set the beginning of the period to fetch, that works.
08:50:47 <bastl> i _can_ edit the end date, but it always uses "today".
08:50:51 <bastl> feels like a bug
08:51:32 <warlord> I dunno. You might want to ask on the gnucash-de mailing list.
08:53:15 <bastl> ok, thanks

10:30:30 <vbatts> warlord: doh, typo sorry. i've been looking at a lot of kde lately. the 2.3.7 unstable release
10:30:48 <warlord> Ah.
10:31:15 <warlord> what is 'r45012'?
10:33:00 <vbatts> the revision release of webkit
10:33:51 <warlord> That's what I thought you meant. I have no clue... I just use the version that was distributed with my distro.
10:34:17 <vbatts> k
10:49:50 <vbatts> warlord: then what version is that ?
10:51:37 <warlord> F10 gives me WebKit-gtk-1.0.0-0.15.svn37790.fc10.i386
10:51:55 <warlord> I have no idea what your distro provides.
10:53:14 <vbatts> wow so you are on r37790
11:06:09 <warlord> It's what F10 provides.

12:25:52 <warlord> Well there you go.
12:29:20 <vbatts> on the home system, when compiling the webkit portion, it was throwing undefined reference errors. oh well. thanks for ... Nothing :) cheers again for helping ;)
12:35:06 <vbatts> but seriously, thanks. you [and the others] have been loyal mainstays on this project for a _long_ time. its nice to see that

16:56:33 <fell> 3. did you change some encoding of http://www.gnucash.org/de/index.phtml? It looks horrible.
16:57:22 <Salacryl> I get the message the external programm aqbanking-assistant could not be found
16:57:45 <Salacryl> with a note that the qt3-wizard must be installed ... which is
16:58:09 <fell> Salacryl: wrong PATH setting?
16:58:32 <Salacryl> I don't set any path manually
16:58:58 <Salacryl> wait I'll check the cmd
16:59:12 <warlord> fell: Nope, I did not.
16:59:24 <warlord> fell: Nothing there should have changed in months.
