08:43:03 <hachque> I got a "gnucash-bin.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close." when using GnuCash on windows.
08:43:12 <hachque> it was at the stage of "reading file.."
08:43:17 <hachque> i'm using a MySQL based file
08:43:30 <hachque> how can i load GnuCash and tell it not to load a project?
08:45:33 <hachque> the only data in the trace is
08:45:35 <hachque> * WARN <qof.engine> [guid_init()] only got 1993 bytes.
08:45:36 <hachque> The identifiers might not be very random.
08:45:36 <hachque> * WARN <gnc.app-utils> Could not spawn perl: Failed to execute child process (No such file or directory)
08:46:00 *** warlord-afk is now known as warlord
08:46:05 <hachque> i'm currently using 2.3.5 svn
08:46:13 <warlord> hachque: run it under gdb and get a backtrace
08:46:52 <hachque> i don't really want to download mingw just to do taht
08:47:00 <hachque> should i be using the stable version insteaD?
08:48:27 <hachque> i'll just downgrade to the stable version
08:48:29 <hachque> see if that works

20:30:31 <tyabux> we have a standard account layout in Norway. Would it be possible to inklude that as the default account tree?
20:30:37 <tyabux> I mean, based on locale?
20:32:54 <jsled> yes. see the existing locale-based example account hierarchies
20:33:05 <jsled> they're just XML files.
20:40:32 *** blizgerg has joined #gnucash
20:45:17 <tyabux> great. TXF.. Is that meant as account codes?
20:45:26 <jsled> TXF?
20:45:48 <tyabux> there is something in GnuCash called TXF.
20:45:55 <jsled> TXF codes are US tax-related account codes.
20:46:05 <jsled> hrm. maybe not us-specific.
20:49:33 *** twunder has joined #gnucash
20:56:24 <warlord> TXF == Tax eXport Format, used to talk to tax programs. I do not believe it is us-specific. But it IS locale-specific.

22:33:45 <hachque> how does GnuCash store transactions in mysql?
22:33:51 <hachque> i'm looking at the table
22:34:08 <hachque> but there doesn't seem to be any reference as to what accounts the transaction is affecting
22:34:15 <hachque> there is only a guid and a currency_guid
22:35:34 <hachque> oh found it
22:35:37 <hachque> it's in the splits table
22:38:01 <jsled> right. A Transaction is a collection of Splits; the Splits relate credits/debits to an Account
22:50:53 <hachque> oh okay
22:51:06 <hachque> i'm making a small web frontend to show the balance sheet ;)

23:30:57 <hachque> how do i open a gnucash file from mysql in 2.2.9?
23:34:30 <hachque> it appears i can't
23:34:30 <hachque> >_>
23:40:17 <jsled> er, yes. the DB Backend is 2.3.x-only.
23:40:53 <jsled> If it's not clear: 2.2.9 is the latest stable, and 2.3.x are developer releases leading to the 2.4.x stable series.
23:41:23 <hachque> this is so weird
23:41:29 <hachque> 2.3.5 used to be able to use mysql fine
23:41:40 <hachque> now every time i try to save or load a project via that backend it just crashes
23:42:50 <hachque> i even uninstalled and cleared my .gnucash directoy
23:59:13 <hachque> how do i run gnucash through gdb?
