01:04:41 <mib_q9z4p3sd> how do i use this
01:05:41 <jsled> it's a group chat thing. you can ask your question, and maybe someone can answer.
01:06:36 <mib_q9z4p3sd> one page asked me to choose a nickname - i took the default one. And it is different from the one on this page. ?
01:06:42 <jsled> but, given the dynamics of the channel and the time of day, I hope you can wait for a while ... the channel is not very responsive at this time, usually.
01:06:53 <jsled> I don't know mibbit very well, sorry.
01:07:20 <mib_q9z4p3sd> This is my first time. I really like sites that have a 'help
01:08:06 <mib_q9z4p3sd> oops - that was a 'help' page. what time fo day is it for you? (Sat 5pm for me)
01:08:22 <jsled> 1am, east coast US.

01:10:28 <mib_q9z4p3sd> Oh a night owl like me. grew up in MD. i'd like to learn more about reports in gnucash - know any place to start?
01:11:52 <jsled> http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/Custom_Reports
01:14:28 <mib_q9z4p3sd> ah, that explains it - I must have looked at this a while ago and put it aside as it looks like I would need to write some code. Am I am not interested in that.

02:16:56 <mib_q9z4p3sd> that page was last update over 1 year ago and uses the cli (and I can't find the exe on my machine yet). But 2.2.6 has Tools/OnLineBanking which brings up a gui for aqbanking

11:59:53 <Odd_Bloke> Hello all. I've got Finance::Quote set up to fetch prices for me. Unfortunately, it inserts these into Gnucash with the price in pence (I'm in the UK) which Gnucash interprets in pounds. Whilst I would love to have £150000 in a mutual fund, this is sadly not the case.
12:00:21 <Odd_Bloke> How can I get the prices interpreted correctly?
12:01:51 <machtfuernacht> divide by 100?

15:45:35 <CSWookie> Hey all. A while ago, on another computer, I used gnucash and I recall it having a bunch of useful starter accounts so I didn't have to create "food" accounts, etc.
15:46:17 <CSWookie> Now, I don't remember how to get them set up. I'm using ubuntu. Can someone help?
15:46:38 <machtfuernacht> For me a wizard comes up when I create a new file.
15:48:01 <CSWookie> Ah! I was trying to import the bank info before opening a new file.

15:53:09 <dbreiser> Odd_Bloke: the pence/pounds thing is a finance-quote issue. What version of f-q are you using?
15:53:51 <dbreiser> there has been some compensation for that problem for a number of versions, but I think yahoo has been messing with things lately
15:55:40 <CSWookie> machtfuernacht: Thanks!
15:55:53 <machtfuernacht> np
15:59:10 <dbreiser> @tell warlord would you please take a look at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=595017 to see if my patch does correctly what you told me to do? No complaints from my compiler, but...
15:59:10 <gncbot> dbreiser: The operation succeeded.

21:53:03 <pj> I am newbie to gnucash. I have two checking accounts, each at a different bank, that I want to be able to import OFX or QFX to each account . I don't know how to get GNUCASH to differintiate between the two checking accounts. The transactions downloaded from bank two always post to account 1. I can't find where to fix this. Can you help? I know I'm not doing something correctly. Thank you. pj
22:25:02 <pj> I am using 2.2.9 on windows xp and like it very much. I did use Quicken (don't like it much). A very small local bank here got tired of Quicken's pay frequently to play and wouldn't pay Quicken to use the QFX format and has only the older QIF format, or OFX for MS Money I think? I don't want to change banks, but I would like to download the transactions.
22:26:50 <pj> I have the two bank accounts set up as Bank and Top level in GnuCash. Thanks for your help.
22:43:28 <pj> I will check the logs from today or try you again later.
