00:01:00 <rockfx02> hey is someone around that can help me with a patch?
00:02:06 <rockfx02> i have one that i created, it's working and everything but there's a particular section that I'd like to put into it's own function and i'm having a bit of trouble figuring out where specifically to place it
00:02:25 <rockfx02> (i'm still pretty new to C and working my way around the gnucash source)

04:04:12 <gerold> hello, I tried to enter a GBP invoice into gnucash 2.2.9, with a single exchange rate entered with the price editor. The correct counter-value in CHF is shown in the accounts tab, but when I run the income statement, it shows as zero.
04:04:30 <gerold> Is this a known problem, or is there a workaround?
04:05:43 <gerold> Any help appreciated. I have a small demo file of the problem if needed...

10:03:39 <warlord> gerold: what do you mean by "GBP Invoice"? You DO have GBP A/R and GBP Income accounts too, right?
10:04:09 <warlord> arod: Do you mean the Account Hierarchy Druid?
10:07:24 <arod> warlord, yes
10:07:52 <warlord> The placeholder values are pre-set there.
10:10:14 <warlord> This isn't a bug.
10:10:17 <arod> not in my locale. some of them are when usign LANG=C. Anyway what's the point of the description then? It says to tick placeholder checkbox if I want
10:10:25 <warlord> In the Druid you're choosing from existing account hierarchies.
10:11:30 <warlord> Let me take a look.
10:12:14 <arod> from the druid: "if you would like an account to be a placeholder account, just click the checkbox for that account"
10:12:35 <warlord> Right, the column is telling you which accounts are placeholders.
10:13:26 <arod> the druid is saying I can choose to set an account as a placeholder
10:13:32 <warlord> I'm not sure where the bug is, in the column being greyed out or the text above it, but yes, one of those is a bug. Please file a bug report with bugzilla.
10:13:54 <arod> one of them must be wrong
10:14:25 <arod> and moreover if I choose my locale (italian) thre are no preset placeholder
10:14:51 <arod> I will file a bug
10:16:22 <warlord> Well, that would be a bug in the italian accounts, for which you can also file a bug.

12:11:55 <gerold> warlord: yes, I had GBP A/R , income, expense and cash accounts.
12:12:22 <gerold> I finally reentered all the foreign currency as the reporting currency with an annotation in the description.
12:13:36 <gerold> I discovered the accounts showed the equivalent in reporting currency correctly, but not in the reports. Once I deleted all the foreign currency, the balance sheet, income statements started to make sense.
12:19:02 <gerold> As I was reentering my data for 2008, I discovered the conversion to the reporting currency was always taking the most recent price from the price editor. This is wrong. It should be taking the last price prior to the transaction date instead.
12:20:04 <gerold> Or am I missing something?
