03:58:11 <sid> Hi, I'm having a problem with GnuCash
03:58:20 <sid> it was working fine earlier today
03:58:41 <sid> then, I was experimenting with how to import QFX files
03:58:47 <sid> it was a pretty large file
03:59:06 <sid> imported fine, but as I was scrolling through the entries, it locked up on me
03:59:21 <sid> now, gnucash doesn't load up properly
03:59:40 <sid> gives me the following message "Dynamic session lookup supported but failed: launchd did not provide a socket path, verify that org.freedesktop.dbus-session.plist is loaded!"
04:00:55 <sid> I did a search and found a solution. I type in the following command before calling gnucash: $launchctl load -F /Library/LaunchAgents/org.freedesktop.dbus-session.plist
04:01:14 <sid> after this command, gnucash will load up
04:01:54 <sid> but if I restart my computer, I have to re-enter the launchctl command
04:04:24 <sid> Anyone have any ideas what happened? Is there anyway to load gnucash, except to add the launchctl command into my .profile? Thanks for any help.
04:19:15 <warlord> sid: Sounds like you're on a Mac.. Are you using Fink? MacPorts?
04:19:26 <sid> macports
04:27:37 <sid> BTW, thanks @warlord for your response :)
04:47:06 <warlord> sorry, co-worker just popped into my office
04:47:14 <warlord> Umm.. Honestly I
04:47:22 <warlord> I'm afraid I'm not all that up on MacPorts..
04:47:30 <warlord> Have you tried looking at the gnucash-user list archives?

04:48:02 <sid> I just looked at the first two hits on Google when I searched for the error message I showed above
04:48:35 <sid> looks like there were some issues with macports
04:49:05 <sid> but it's just weird that my macports installation worked fine earlier
04:49:22 <sid> so I thought maybe it was something with the application
04:49:57 <sid> could it be that when it hung, some lock files remained? or something similar?
04:50:35 <sid> I had to kill my X windows session, so it easily could've left some files laying around
04:50:37 <warlord> Could be.
04:50:54 <sid> do you know which folder I should look in?
04:51:47 <sid> i checked in my data folder, ended up just deleting all the files, since I'm just starting out
04:51:59 <sid> but problem still remains
04:52:20 <warlord> I'm afraid I don't. I'd recommend you ask on the gnucash-user mailing list. I'm not a Mac user. :(
04:52:35 <sid> okay
04:52:45 <sid> thanks
04:53:49 <warlord> Note that it's onbly 5am in the US so you probably wont get a response for several hours.
04:54:06 <sid> yeah, 2 am where I'm at
04:57:21 <warlord> Oh, you're US/PDT?

23:19:01 <dbreiser> shouldn't make distclean remove Makefile files? Out of about 160 instances of 'AQBANKING_LIBS = ...' I have 11 Makefiles that have an old path in them.
23:19:23 <dbreiser> I even tried make maintainer-clean
23:49:36 <dbreiser> hmm. must be something else -- clean checkout does the same thing
