06:28:38 <normal-user> Good day. How to set left border on print-out from GNUcash 2.2.6 on Ubuntu 9.04?
06:29:15 <warlord> normal-user: you don't. It's a problem with GtkHTML.
06:29:29 <warlord> It should be better with WebKit in GnuCash 2.4
06:32:40 <normal-user> warlord: thanks. will this be a permanent issue?
06:34:02 <warlord> What do you mean?
06:38:34 *** Peter_ has left #gnucash
06:40:58 <normal-user> Will I be able to change this manually with never versions of GNUcash?
06:42:08 <normal-user> Sorry, didn't read other answers.
06:42:33 <normal-user> Thanks and have a nice day! Greeting from Africa.
06:44:54 <warlord> Umm.. I dont know if it will be changable per se. I'm not working on the webkit integration and I dont think i use it locally yet.
06:48:54 <normal-user> warlord: thanks
06:49:29 <warlord> You're welcome. *waves from Germany, although I live in the USA*
06:55:15 <normal-user> Na dann viele GrĂ¼sse von Gambia (bin Schweizer, lebe aber seit 6 Jahren da...)
06:56:35 <warlord> I have no idea what you just said.
06:56:56 <warlord> I just happen to be visiting germany this week.
07:00:28 <normal-user> OK, understood. I thought you're a German. (I said: Greetings from Gambia and that I am a Swiss guy living since 6 years in The Gambia). Never mind. Thanks a lot and have a nice day.
07:02:47 <warlord> :)

12:30:59 <bleubarrie> Hi all, yesterday I asked about lots and tracking stocks/stock options. We kept missing each other, but as he asked for clarification on what I meant about lots, warlord said that lots are implemented, just not automatically. So, I'm wondering how to do it manually, then, for stocks (and stock options).

17:58:11 <harlan> Is anybody thinking about working on moving gnucash to a DB backend (or using ORM to have it be backend-agnostic)?
18:02:09 <warlord> 2.3 already has a DBI backend, and SQLite is the default "file" format for new files.
18:02:17 <warlord> So, the answer to your question is "yes"
18:04:13 *** nomeata has joined #gnucash
18:05:06 <harlan> ok, thanks. But I didn't think 2.3 was multiuser yet.
18:05:23 <warlord> it's not, and you didn't mention multi-user..
18:05:36 <warlord> And it wont be multi-user..
18:05:38 <harlan> I haven't been awake for that long yet.
18:05:40 <warlord> but again, you didn't ask that
18:05:48 <warlord> ... and i'm about to go to bed.
18:06:11 <harlan> ok. are you saying 2.3 won't be multi-user, or gnucash won't ever be multi user?
18:06:21 <warlord> 2.3/2.4 wont be multiuser
18:06:27 <harlan> ok, thanks.
18:06:29 <warlord> I dont want to say "ever"
18:06:37 <harlan> sleep well, eh? Thanks...
18:06:40 <harlan> :)

20:38:17 <todd> boy have I ever been out of it. dbi in 2.3.x whee
20:39:47 <todd> I guess I'll try to gander at the code unless someone explains to me why I wouldn't expect to be able to permit multiuser even if it is slow and lockstep for multiple users etc, even if it is stupid and dumb, elegant can wait to 2.5 perhaps? ;-)
20:40:29 <todd> 'permit' is a nebulous word, perhaps 'implement proper' would be a good substitution
