01:05:00 <nbinont> I think I found a temporary solution, so will go with that for now
01:05:01 <nbinont> thanks

01:07:43 <nbinont> ah, perfect! Can't believe I missed that all this time.

10:34:16 <cstim> warlord: good morning
10:35:02 <warlord> Hiya cstim
10:35:08 <warlord> good afternoon to you
10:36:28 <cstim> right :-)
10:37:14 <cstim> As I wrote in my quick reply: I think I've already set up everything for nightly builds
10:37:25 <warlord> Ah, okay.
10:37:26 <cstim> except that "Scheduled Tasks" need the password of the user "warlord".
10:37:35 <warlord> Oh, does it?
10:37:40 <warlord> I can go type that in..
10:38:46 <warlord> So, where do I need to type it in? Does it need to authenticate every time it runs? Or just to set up the task?
10:38:57 <cstim> lemme show you
10:39:37 <cstim> warlord: you see the property window of the Scheduled Task named "daily_build"?
10:39:46 <warlord> yeah
10:40:17 <cstim> and now this password window for the "Run As" field
10:40:20 <warlord> Now I need to remember the password I installed here..
10:40:37 <warlord> Try that?
10:40:38 <cstim> please type in the "warlord" password, then click Ok on the "daily_build" window.
10:40:52 <cstim> yes, and "Ok"
10:41:16 <warlord> Does that mean wrong password?
10:41:24 <cstim> probably, yes.
10:41:51 <warlord> Hmm... I just tried both passwords I could've been using..
10:42:20 <warlord> I know I set up an administrator password.. But I dont recall setting a password for the warlord account.
10:42:53 <cstim> hm...
10:43:08 <cstim> I also don't understand why it needs a password there.
10:43:40 <cstim> anyway. The output and build log will be written into c:\soft\output
10:44:12 <warlord> cool! Just need to figure out how to publish it.
10:44:17 *** Feisar has joined #gnucash
10:44:18 <cstim> You can see the stdout output of the yellow window is already being written into the file build-2009-05-27.log
10:44:23 <cstim> (611 KB)
10:44:27 <cstim> right.
10:45:31 <cstim> It's then up to you to figure out a suitable way of publishing this, preferrably both the log and the setup.exe
10:45:36 <cstim> (if the latter exists)
10:45:42 <warlord> right.
10:45:48 <warlord> I'll figure something out..
10:46:07 <warlord> So is the scheduled task going to actually run now?
10:46:44 <cstim> hm...
10:47:12 <cstim> I'm waiting for the compile task in the other window to finish, then I'll test
10:48:07 <warlord> okay.
10:48:21 <warlord> I wonder how long the build takes?
10:48:53 <cstim> I guess 30-90 minutes
10:49:56 <warlord> That's not too bad!
10:50:59 <cstim> hm. "Status: Could not start." That doesn't sound good.
10:51:22 * warlord ponders adding a 'start' and 'stop' times to the log.
10:51:39 <warlord> no, that doesn't sound good.
10:52:03 <cstim> I'm still checking. Stay tuned :-)
10:52:36 <warlord> Yep. Watching stuff go by the screen.
10:52:44 <warlord> This is building trunk, right?
10:52:54 <cstim> yes
10:53:21 <warlord> One of these days I should fix the makefiles that use GnuMake extensions.
10:53:34 <cstim> the actual URL is set in the file defaults.sh and can be overridden by setting a different URL in custom.sh
10:53:45 <warlord> Right.
10:53:59 <cstim> ok, so what you see now is that starting the build process from outside of MSYS works fine.
10:54:18 <warlord> Using your script?
10:54:23 <cstim> Now "only" we need to set up a "Scheduled Task" that calls that file c:\soft\packaging\daily_build.bat
10:54:50 <cstim> yes. The .bat is the one called from windows, which calls the Shell (sh.exe), which then executes the actual shell script.
10:55:09 <warlord> okay..
10:55:50 <warlord> Well, I can go and try to reset (or unset) the password for user warlord?
10:56:01 <warlord> Or we can setup another account for the automated builds?
10:57:07 <cstim> the current window is what I got when initially setting up this scheduled task.
10:57:21 <warlord> And it doesn't work if you leave the password blank?
10:57:23 <cstim> Yes, either one would be fine, but apparently some user and its password is required.
10:57:26 <cstim> no, doesn't
10:57:43 *** Def has joined #gnucash
10:57:44 <cstim> ok
10:57:48 <warlord> try that
10:58:03 <warlord> Why access denied?
10:59:29 <cstim> no idea.
10:59:49 <warlord> I can't tell if that's because of a bad user password or a bad file property?
10:59:59 <cstim> does it mean the password is wrong? Does it mean it cannot execute .bat files? Or tis this particular file currently locked? no idea.
11:00:20 <warlord> Oh, Windows... How I love you!
11:03:19 <cstim> maybe the file should use the suffix .cmd instead of .bat
11:03:34 <cstim> anyway, I have to leave now.
11:03:54 <cstim> Once the running job is finished, there should be a setup.exe in c:\soft\output
11:04:00 <warlord> ok
11:04:03 <warlord> thanks.
11:04:05 <cstim> which you could upload to sourceforge or something
11:04:14 <warlord> 'k
11:04:20 <cstim> and I'll ask some windows guys on how to do this properly.
11:04:32 <cstim> But I might not have time before next week.
11:04:36 <warlord> maybe nathan will come back online today -- he was here last night
11:04:39 <cstim> So, have a nice weekend :-)
11:04:48 <warlord> You could send mail to -devel with the status?
11:05:02 <cstim> you mean, now?
11:05:22 <warlord> sure... it might draw out some win32 help ;)
11:05:39 <warlord> enjoy your holiday.

11:06:31 <Def> What's the windows problem?
11:07:19 <warlord> access denied setting up a scheduled task
11:08:25 <warlord> ... and it wont run
11:09:53 <Def> Could be any number of things, I'm afraid... Aside from the standard permission stuff, I know that there is a Windows bug causing this problem...

11:10:13 <Def> I'll see if I can find the KB, if you want
11:10:50 <warlord> Please?
11:12:15 <Def> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/904423/en-us
11:12:38 <Def> You can say a lot about MS, but their KB stuff is good :)
11:14:33 <warlord> Aha, so it is a bug in their security update..
11:16:40 <warlord> Yep, that's the error I'm getting..
11:18:59 <warlord> So either I can install the hotfix.. Or I can upgrade to SP3
11:19:08 <Def> Hang on a sec
11:19:24 <Def> http://blogs.chron.com/helpline/archives/2005/12/denied_access_t.html
11:19:32 <Def> Seems there is a workaround
11:23:00 <warlord> .... and there is no English hotfix anyways.

13:39:09 <sgonzalez> Hey all, running 2.2.9 and had a crash. I restarted and replayed some log files to recover as well as re-entered some transactions. Everything is looking correct now, except the running balance in my 'Accounts Receivable' is wrong, I have a specific transaction here where I see it jumps to a number way higher than it should given the Tot Inv/Pmt on the line. What can I do to correct this?
13:41:39 <sgonzalez> Wait a minute... I restarted again and there were 2 new entries with '?' in the P/I column... Deleting then seems to have fixed my prob. yay.
13:41:58 <sgonzalez> :)
13:56:21 <warlord> sgonzalez: you cannot replay business transactions.
13:58:21 <sgonzalez> As in the replay will not do what I expect, and probably caused my balance problem?
14:00:39 <warlord> Yes
14:00:58 <warlord> It will dutifully replay the transactions but not the associated business metadata needed to keep everything in sync.
14:02:11 <sgonzalez> So am I hosed now? I just noticed I cannot unpost an invoice that is messed up.
14:02:37 <warlord> Yep, you're hosed. You should back out to the last save from before the crash and then re-enter your stuff by hand.
14:02:41 <sgonzalez> "CRIT <gnc.business.core> gncInvoiceUnpost: assertion `txn' failed"
14:02:51 <sgonzalez> :/
14:02:59 <warlord> right.
14:03:37 <sgonzalez> K. Thanks for the help.
14:05:05 <sgonzalez> Can I open up an .xac, or do I need to use the las known good save of the main gnucash file?
14:06:04 <warlord> and .xac is a full backup. i recommend you copy the last .xac to e.g. myfile2 and go from there.
14:06:40 <sgonzalez> awesome. Thought I was going to have to re-enter all of 2009. Thanks**2
14:07:24 <warlord> nope. just since your last save, which wrote a backup.

16:13:35 <warlord> I use Assets:Business Expenses
16:14:09 <warlord> So Cash or CC -> A:BE, and then when I get paid I do A:BE -> Checking
