13:30:43 <ironm> hi
13:31:36 <ironm> are you using gnucash 2.2.6 or 2.2.7? - I have problems when printing landscape (.pdf, .ps or printer) - any idea why?
13:31:50 <ironm> thank you in advance
13:33:03 <ironm> the page rotates, but not the content
13:33:20 <ironm> when changing from portrait to landscape
13:38:02 <ironm> any idea where to find more infos about this problem ?
13:38:24 *** benjamingoodger is now known as benjamin
13:39:15 <ironm> hi benjamin
13:39:54 <ironm> do you have any experience with printing of balance (landscape)
13:41:22 <ironm> OK ... cu

22:13:07 <Christopher> Howdy howdy howdy! I am a noobie to gnucash and will be quite honest that I haven't read the ENTIRE manual. Problem is that when I go to my checking account, create a record for an ATM deposit and put 80 bucks as the deposit, it creates an additional record with a matching 80 dollar withdrawl. Best I can come up with is to add the money to an incoming or "deposit" account into the equity...
22:13:09 <Christopher> ...account and split it into checking. Is this correct or is there a better way!?
22:13:52 *** warlord-afk is now known as warlord
22:14:28 <warlord> Christopher: if you're in the checking account register, what are you using as the transfer account? I suspect you're using "checking", which means the money is going from checking, to checking...
22:15:34 <Christopher> ohhh
22:15:48 <Christopher> so, other income would be a good place to start and transfer it to checking?

22:18:33 <warlord> Well, only if it IS income..
22:18:41 <warlord> Like, if someone gives you money, that's income.
22:18:42 <Christopher> thankfully, it is =D
22:19:10 <warlord> If you just make an ATM withdrawal, that's *not* income.. It's a transfer either to Assets:Cash on Hand, or to an Expense (when you spend it)
22:19:53 <Christopher> gotcha, thanks for the help
22:20:40 <Christopher> gnucash beats the pants of quicken. gnucash would benefit from a new GUI, but it seems that is in the works according to wiki
22:20:59 *** IanL has quit IRC
22:21:22 <Christopher> but, either way, it's good to see a project focusing on the true necessities as apposed to a "cha-ching" after every deposit to your account :P
22:22:06 <warlord> We just got a new GUI in the update from GTK1 to GTK2
22:22:25 <warlord> Some people like the noise... But it's not an oft-requested feature.
