07:22:48 <stenico> hi, was wondering if anyone can help me understand the process of splitting transactions a bit better. Some times, in the split view when I add a new entry the additional "funds in" entry I have made is subtracted from the original funds in, and other times it isn't and a new "orphan" funds out entry appears to balance it. My question is how do I get it to always subtract the additional funds in entry from the original funds in

07:39:41 <warlord> stenico: Use tab or the up/down error to move between rows instead of hitting "return" or "enter"
07:48:12 <stenico> warlord: That works! :-) Thankyou again!
07:49:23 <warlord> you're welcome

11:33:31 <maier> I was reconciling an account recently and when I hit the "Finish" button and went back to the register, one of the transactions I reconciled shows up as unreconciled. Unfortunately, GnuCash seems to think it is reconciled, judging by the Reconciled readout at the bottom of the window. Furthermore, if I go back to try and re-reconcile, it now has an erroneous starting. Is there a way I can "reset" the reconciliation information?
11:35:11 <maier> sorry, that should read "it now has an erroneous starting *amount*"

16:38:39 <fourbit> I need to do owner draws. Do I have to set up a seperate account? If so, where?
16:52:52 <fourbit> Anybody awake? :) Would I set up the Owners draw account under "Equity" account?
16:53:30 <warlord> fourbit: no need to repeat your question -- we saw it the first time.
16:53:35 <warlord> and yes it should be under Equity
16:54:01 <fourbit> What first time. Oh, Maybe Kopete sent it before it crashed the first time. Sorry.
16:54:47 <fourbit> Thanks warlord. This accounting stuff is all 'Greek' to me. :(
16:56:16 <warlord> At 16:33
16:56:26 <warlord> I suggest you read the docs. They are very good.
16:57:21 <fourbit> I couldn't find it there. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.
17:06:38 <fourbit> I'm assuming that this http://gnucash.org/docs/v2.0/C/gnucash-guide is one of the 'docs' you are referring to.
17:09:20 <warlord> Yes
17:10:30 <fourbit> No info there that I can find.
17:11:07 <fourbit> At least not related to the question that I apparently posted twice. Sorry again about that.
17:12:00 <fourbit> Well, thanks for the time.

17:31:05 <warlord> (and there may not be a direct answer to that question there -- there may be something in the FAQ.. or the list archives)
17:46:57 <fourbit> Thanks again warlord. I know y'all are pretty busy. I'm still reading and trying to figure out the correct procedure. I have made the account. Now, I need to figure out how to post the transaction.
