18:22:50 <errorlevel> I have an account called "Asset:Business Expenses" that I use to track reimbursable business expenses. When I receive reimbursement, it gets subtracted back out of this account. My problem is that my most recent reimbursement check includes a payment for mileage (which of course was never originally "charged" to Asset:Business Expense) and that's preventing a zero balance on this account.
18:24:00 <errorlevel> Is there some common way to "charge" mileage (and tolls) to this account, in order to achieve a zero balance?
18:27:09 <errorlevel> Do I need to do a split on the payment and specifically take the mileage and tolls out of some sort of separate income account, which I can mark as nontaxable?
18:35:32 <warlord> you can either bill the mileage up into your A:BE account, or you can split the reimbursement. Either way works.
18:36:05 <errorlevel> What do you mean "bill the mileage up?"
18:38:51 <errorlevel> By "bill the mileage" do you mean use a transaction that debits A:BE and credits something like I:Mileage?

21:47:17 <Tim> hi. I've been working on getting GnuCash 2.2.4 running on Mac OS X 10.4 in X11 1.1.3 - XFree86 4.4.0 .
21:47:17 <Tim> I installed the program using Fink Version 0.5.4 (.release)
21:47:18 <Tim> 6:23It operates fine for the most part unless I attempt one specific thing: The accounts are arranged in an ordered list (e.g. alphabetized by account name). If I rename an account such that it would move up or down in the list, the program crashes immediately.
21:47:18 <Tim> I looked at the crash log and the first few lines are:
21:47:36 <Tim> xception:  EXC_BAD_ACCESS (0x0001)
21:47:37 <Tim> Codes:      KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x00000004
21:47:37 <Tim> Thread 0 Crashed:
21:47:37 <Tim> 0   libgtk-x11-2.0.0.dylib          0x0227ab9b gtk_tree_model_sort_row_changed + 418
21:47:37 <Tim> 1   libgobject-2.0.0.dylib          0x0289458d g_closure_invoke + 348
21:47:38 <Tim> 2   libgobject-2.0.0.dylib          0x028a25e1 signal_emit_unlocked_R + 2634
21:47:39 <Tim> 3   libgobject-2.0.0.dylib          0x028a3842 g_signal_emit_valist + 1917
21:47:41 <Tim> 6:28
21:47:43 <Tim> according to Mac OS X support sites, KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE (0x0002) at 0x00000004 means the program was trying to access read-only memory (aka segmentation fault?)
21:48:27 <Tim> Is this something I can possibly fix?
21:58:16 *** Tim is now known as Timmaues
21:58:35 *** Timmaues is now known as Naretheos
22:08:57 <warlord> errorlevel: Sorry, I really dont know. I suggest asking asn acocuntant.
22:10:01 <warlord> Naretheos: what version of libgtk do you have?
22:10:16 <warlord> I thought that was fixed in something relatively recent.
22:13:34 <warlord> Naretheos: also, in the future please use pastebin for more than one or two lines.
22:13:48 <Naretheos> thanks. Sorry about that
22:15:36 <warlord> NP.
22:16:03 <warlord> So how did you get gnucash 2.2.4 from fink stable? I thought you'd need fink unstable?
22:19:26 <Naretheos> hm. ok. Perhaps this was a poor question. I did enable fink unstable, but that was mainly per the installation instructions for various websites http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/MacOSXInstallation. I have gtk+2 2.6.10-1004
