08:51:12 <pecisk> hi people, anyone here using GnuCash for Windows lastest version? :) I have a question
08:52:07 <pecisk> I have problem with fonts. I try to write Latvian symbols, but they appear wrong
10:17:32 *** warlord-afk is now known as warlord
10:18:10 <warlord> johnf: No, you either need to leave your invoice "open" (and just choose the new invoice # every time) or you have to reset the report every time.

10:42:12 <tolkien> hi all
10:47:11 <tolkien> I just compiled the 2.2.0, but there is no Business menu.....am I wrong?
10:49:22 <warlord> tolkien: I dont know. I can't see your screen. But the business menu is there for me in 2.2.0. Do you, perhaps, have multiple versions of gnucash installed?
10:51:13 <tolkien> nope...have I to set anything during Configure?
10:52:44 <warlord> Nope.
10:52:57 <warlord> It's there. nothing special.
10:53:31 <warlord> BUT... you are the second person to report this issue; last time, IIRC, there was a build problem and it just didn't get installed or loaded properly.
10:56:00 <tolkien> I 'll recompile it......let me check :)
10:56:52 <warlord> what OS/Distro are you on?
10:58:08 <tolkien> debian lenny
11:01:38 <warlord> Oh, and TB hasn't built a 2.2.0 package, yet?
11:05:32 <tolkien> I usually compile it....anyway last debian pkg is gnucash-2.0.5-1.1
11:06:04 <warlord> Are you sure you dont have remnants of 2.0.x lying around from a previous build?
11:08:56 <tolkien> checking.....
11:16:12 <warlord> I have to run off for about 15 minutes. Be Back Soon.

13:44:20 *** ScislaC has joined #gnucash
13:46:29 <ScislaC> What do you guys normally do when compiling is broken for a distro? The 2.1.x/2.2 series isn't able to compile on Ubuntu Gutsy due to guile not finding slib (even though it's installed)
13:49:26 <ScislaC> Note that this system compiled it fine on Ubuntu Feisty, and no packages needed to be added/changed when I ran "apt-get build-dep gnucash" after the upgrade (when it was evident that configure couldn't complete).
14:05:00 *** kielein has quit IRC
14:06:33 <pecisk> ScislaC: tried slib-dev package to get installed?
14:06:39 <ScislaC> wow... I figured out the problem...
14:07:04 <ScislaC> apparently it got confused because guile-1.8 was installed for something else
14:07:21 <ScislaC> when that was uninstalled, it automagically worked

16:17:16 <joslwah> Sorry to just jump in but I'm trying to get things set up in gnucash and I can't find something anywhere in the help. If I have an account (which collects interest), and virtually split this account into several subaccounts, how do I (a) set the interest rate on the account, and (b) ensure that the interest is split correctly between the sub-accounts?
16:27:48 <joslwah> My problem with just using the reconciliation system is that it doesn't seem to deal with sub-accounts, nor does it allow changes in interest rate to be taken into account, so if the rate changes then you share of the interest may be different depending on how the different parts changed throughout the period.
16:49:16 <jsled> joslwah: in fact, gnucash does not at all automatically deal with interest.
16:52:17 *** gunnicom| has joined #gnucash
16:57:51 <ScislaC> jsled: are there any plans for it in the future?
16:58:30 <jsled> not immediate, AFAIK.
16:58:37 <jsled> (patches welcome.)
17:01:26 *** gunnicom_ has quit IRC
17:15:43 <chris> joslwah: There is a checkbox to allow the reconciliation process to include subaccounts, but you'd still have to manually allocate the interest.
17:45:10 *** pecisk has quit IRC
17:47:02 <joslwah> chris, jsled Thanks. That is what I was fearing.
17:47:47 <joslwah> jsled, O.k. So how would one jump in and do the patching? Any hints as to where in the source to look etc.? I'd have to be told again. I currently don't have a dev machine to work on.
18:04:10 <joslwah> Sorry, got to head off now. May check in later if it proves to be a real irritant.
