20:55:26 <cdehaan> Hello! I am running GnuCash 2.0.2 on Ubuntu and each time I open GnuCash I get a message that "GnuCash could not obtain the lock for" my file and then it opens readonly... I recreate the file, use it, and once again the message pops up next time I open

20:56:25 <jsled> When you see that, it's usually because some previous instance of gnucash crashed, and didn't remove the lock file that it holds during the session.

21:04:38 <jsled> If it's repeatable, you may want to retain a copy of /tmp/gnucash.trace *after* you've quit but *before* you've re-started.

21:05:30 <jsled> The "problem" is that /tmp/gnucash.trace is truncated and overwritten when you start it up ... so by the time you've seen the "can't get lock" dialog, it's too late.
