11:00:49 <Mike``> hello
11:01:36 <Mike``> does gnucash support grouping of online transactions to execute them together, so only one TAN is needed?
11:20:14 *** runelind has joined #gnucash
11:20:30 <runelind> hello everyone :)
11:21:02 <warlord> Mike``: I'm afraid you might have to ask that on the gnucash-de mailing list.
11:22:03 <Mike``> hm, ok, will do :)
11:22:15 <Mike``> thanks
11:26:56 <warlord> Mike``: sorry, but none of the german developers are here, and none of the rest of us use HBCI.
11:27:12 <warlord> I SUSPECT that there's no way to initiate multiple transactions at once.
11:27:57 <Mike``> i somehow suspect that too..the HBCI backend supports it apparently, but it seems gnucash lacks the gui for it
11:32:34 <Mike``> and well, too bad that the online banking systems seem to differ around the world... :/
11:32:37 <warlord> Yes, gnucash has no way currently to select multiple txns
11:32:52 <warlord> Yeah, that sucks, too.. But that's not something gnucash can fix ;)
11:32:59 <Mike``> of course not ;)
11:34:09 <warlord> :)
11:34:20 <Mike``> well, ok, thanks again, have a nice day :)
11:34:34 <runelind> is there a good doc for setting up new accounts using HBCI? If I pull all my transactions from this year it doesn't correlate with my actual balances because it assumes that I have a zero opening balance when in fact I don't. If I set an opening balance on the account from the date I pull the data it ends up putting a bunch of stuff in the imbalance section, and I don't really know what to do with that. Theref
11:35:35 <runelind> sorry for the rant :)
11:35:50 *** Mike`` has quit IRC
11:36:40 <warlord> runelind: have you read the docs? This is discussed in the "Creating an account" and "setting an opening balance" sections.
11:37:12 <warlord> the imbalance is due to the fact that you didn't set your transfer account, where the opening balance comes from. usually "Equity:Opening Balance"
11:37:43 <runelind> I'll read through it again
11:38:19 <runelind> also, I'm running this on a mac. I tried compiling it on a FreeBSD system, but the HBCI setup crashes.
11:41:49 <warlord> ok
11:41:56 <warlord> you should notify the ports people.

13:16:02 <CyborgMax> "on -user"?
13:17:16 <CyborgMax> shall that be an irc channel?
13:19:25 <jsled> Sorry, the gnucash-user mailing list.
13:19:52 <CyborgMax> ah, okay
13:20:55 <CyborgMax> Is this a developer channel?
13:21:08 <CyborgMax> Or support and chat?

14:48:36 <warlord> I bit the bullet and paid for some IP from my hotel lobby.

15:28:16 <remiss> warlord: whish I was so lucky.. the hotel I was at yesterday didn't have internet at all :-/
15:28:45 <warlord> AT ALL?
15:28:47 <warlord> Wow.
15:29:16 <remiss> well. prolly down in the reception, but no wireless where I was
15:29:33 <warlord> I'm just miffed becasue on their website this hotel claims to have internet in their Superior and Executive rooms, but apparently they really only have broadband in their Executive rooms. The Superior rooms only have "ISDN".
15:29:57 <remiss> hmm
15:30:20 <remiss> probably could have used dialup, but where's the fun in that
15:30:40 <warlord> true.
15:30:43 <warlord> And it's EXPENSIVE.
15:30:53 <warlord> and... I dont know if the modem actually works in my laptop.
15:32:27 <remiss> I have trouble enough with ipw3945.. intel's supposed to be open source my ass.. binary blob crap :(
15:32:45 <warlord> LOL
15:32:56 <warlord> Do you really have trouble with the ipe3945?
15:32:59 <remiss> yeah
15:33:10 <warlord> (I currently have an Atheros, but my new laptop is supposed to have a 3945)
15:33:14 <warlord> What kind of trouble?
15:33:39 <remiss> disconnects after a while and nearly impossible to get it connected again.. or reloading the blob and reinserting the module usually helps
15:34:00 <warlord> Huh!
15:34:20 <warlord> What Distro? What kernel version? What driver/firmware version?
15:34:52 <remiss> arch, 2.6.20 probably and 1.2 of driver and 1.7.x of blob as far as I can recall
15:35:04 <remiss> I left it on standby without power last night so *dunno* :p
15:36:08 <warlord> Huh
15:36:26 <warlord> Well, I guess I'll figure it out once I get my new laptop.
15:36:35 <warlord> the ipw2200 is supposedly REALLY stable.
15:37:31 <warlord> Anyways, gott run.
15:37:32 <warlord> Bye.
15:37:38 <remiss> glhfkadd
15:37:53 <warlord> gezundheit
15:38:02 <remiss> hehe:p

21:57:40 <chris> fiftycal: It's actually in your datafile, although, your data file may be gzipped.

23:46:36 <carthik> hello - newbie question - how do I enter the APR for a credit card, so that, at the end of each billing cycle, the interest on the outstanding amount will automatically be calculated and added to the account?
23:47:08 <carthik> This way I'm thinking I can see how much my debt will grow over, say, the next 8 months
23:53:00 <jsled> you cannot.
23:54:29 <jsled> You could setup a scheduled transaction, but it cannot obtain the dated value of the account ... but you could ask it to prompt you for the value.
